Football

Inter Milan - or 'Zlatan's Inter' as the team is better known here - claimed the Serie A title with a 2-1 away win at Siena.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was all smiles after Sunday's game, but there was bad news for Sweden as the striker picked up a groin injury that may rule him out of Sweden's Euro qualifying matches against Denmark and Iceland in June.

There were just three games played in the Swedish top flight at the weekend.

Djurgården secured a comfortable 3-1 home win over Helsingborg. Mattias Jonsson scored two as the Stockholm side came from behind as Stadion.

Trelleborg pulled off the surprise of the weekend, seeing off title favourites Malmö for a 2-1 victory in front of an ecstatic home crowd.

Halmstad turned things around at Örjans Vall, emerging 2-1 victors despite losing an early goal to Kalmar.

AIK impressed earier in the week with a 2-1 win away to Gothenburg.

Umeå have a mountain to climb after giving away the only goal of the game in injury time of the first leg of the UEFA Women's Cup Final against Arsenal on Sunday. The second leg will be played in London next Sunday.

Ice Hockey

Johan Franzén was in the thick of the action as the Detroit Red Wings advanced to the quarter final of the Stanley Cup.

The fifth match against Calgary Flames was a heated affair, culminating in Calgary keeper Jamie McLennan smashing the Swede in the stomach with his club. But Franzén had the last laugh; his winning goal on Sunday meant that Detroit won the best of seven series 4-2 and pushed Calgary out of the competition.

Wrestling

It was a good week for Sweden at the European Wrestling Championships in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

Ida-Theres Karlsson won her third European Championship gold medal when she defeated Marianna Sastin from Hungary in the final of the 59 kilo division.

Sofia Karlsson, the "prettiest wrestler" at the championships, took bronze at the 48 kilo level.

There were also two medals on the men's side. Heavyweight Jalmar Sjöberg took bronze in the 120 kilo division against Branda from Hungary, while Jimmy Lidberg lost out in the final of the 96 kilo division to Ramaz Nomadze from Georgia.
