After a few champagne cocktails at the Crosby Street Hotel last night, I popped into the Agent Provocateur store on Mercer Street. Kim, the Femme Fatale store manager, and her team of sex kittens put on a small showcase of Agent Provocateur’s new demi-couture line – lingerie made in the couture tradition and fit to wear on the red carpet. Needless to say, it was exquisite. Callais lace, butter soft Italian leather, and Swarowksi crystals en masse on limited edition pieces that will only be found in 10 stores around the globe.
While Agent Provocateur hails from Britain, the luxe Soho store has a distinct New York feel, and with champagne on ice and a sales staff that makes everyone feel like a star, it’s certainly worth a visit when in town.
