Facebook just kicked me out. They just informed me that my account was disabled and now literally my account no longer exists. I tried finding me on Google and even via another person’s Facebook account and I’ve left the Facebook building.
I sent them and email and I sure do hope they get this fixed because as pathetic as it sounds, I feel like I just got exiled and ostracised and voted off the island.
How am I supposed to find out if it’s still raining or not in Boston when people wake up? How am I supposed to know what happened to Cecilia’s reported stolen car? Who is going to give me some insight on the Red Sox game which was apparently lost after a 9-run lead (yes, I know I can google, but I feel so much closer to Fenway when I read Lynne’s shock and horror or glee.)
Dear Facebook, I hope you resolve this soon. I need to go to IKEA and do some other AFC errands today. I will check back later.
I feel like the tree which fell in the woods.

The Sox blew a 9-1 lead to tank out by losing to the ORIOLES 11-10. Sigh.
Oh, never fear, it’s still raining – through the sea fog, which has enveloped the city for days now. One has had to drive past Brockton to find any sun at all. I’m not sure the sun will ever shine here again; it’s become downright biblical. The Blue Angels are scheduled to practice over downtown this afternoon, but at the moment it’s looking rather grim for that to happen. Apparently, it’s the least sunny month since 1905. Oh, joy. Enjoy your beautiful weather, ya bastid.
I can’t help you with news about the car, but I can tell you that Pats training camp starts soon, and Tommy will be back.

Thanks for the update Lori. My facebook is still disabled and there’s no news. Sigh. That would be so cool to see the Blue Angels fly over.
The rain seems to really be getting on everyone’s nerves. No one thinks it’s funny when I stop referring to the Atlantic as the pond and jokingly suggest it’s rain puddle. And no one is sympathetic to my hope that all the rain gets it out of its system now so that I have glorious weather when I’m there in August.
Oh, and no one gives me Pats updates, so thanks.

And I’m back. Lynne’s update “Sox win in extra innings”, Becca’s: “dont think you can rain on my parade… im always shining, no matter the weather.” And many other have rain reports and apparently my disappearance was not totally unnoticed as Kim’s status reads:
“is considering forming a “former friends of BB” group… Is it just me, or did she suddenly disappear from FB? How will we survive without our daily dose of BBisms?;)?
No news on Cecilia’s stolen car.

Well, it is STILL raining – no, POURING – here today; however, we have hope for the weekend of the Fourth. I certainly hope so, we have large parties planned. I never saw or heard the Blue Angels, and as my office is located downtown, in the old West End, I think I would’ve heard them buzzing the city.
I certainly hope you have good weather in August. If you do not it may be rather quiet here, as all the residents will have fled, me included. And may I say I hope you have spectacular weather in two weeks, when I will be in Stockholm. Let’s see if we can work something out with the weather gods, shall we? I’ll light the bonfire…
Of course, I will be more than happy to report on the Pats: I’m a “bit” of a fan; I live near Foxboro and go to the games (and training camp
)

It’s been a month since they disabled my FB account and from their emails I gather they have no intention of giving it back to me. I know I sent too many F/R’s in a short period of time but I read that most people get their accounts back after a few days if it’s their 1st offense. What have I done to get blacklisted this way? I feel like I’ve just been indicated by MacArthur as being a commie!!!!

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the Fourth. I still don’t know if I’ll be doing it up American or Swedish style.
I will hope the exodus coincides with the unexpected return of the sun and a glut of accommodations on the Cape (though I’m probably crashing a friend’s basement). I’ll keep a candle lit for your trip this way to enjoy the full blown summer we’re currently having.
I am not really a sports fan at all, though back in the 80s heyday I was a big Celtics fan. But I am eternally a Boston fan. And my kids were born in 2004 and 2007 –BoSox world series years…coincidence? I think not
Thank me New England.
@Antonietta. It took about 12 hours for me but it seemed the “foul” wasn’t mine from the start. Sorry to hear your case seems doomed. Start over with a new email address. That’s what I was on my way to doing. Good luck.

p.s.
Cecilia has no news of her stolen car, but not anticipating any, has already got herself a new one. That was fast

Is Facebook punishing people for being active on a social site?
Here’s the deal. I accidentally violated the Facebook Terms of Service by adding to many people. I was playing a social game called mafia wars quite heavily. I suspect this was the root of the problem.
The application spam’s a lot, so I changed its setting so that it would not stream every little post to all my contacts in Facebook prior to getting banned. I was also willingly accepting friend’s requests from strangers playing Mafia Wars, and also responding to friend requests resulting from Wall Posts I had made for Mafia Wars.
It turns out that if the posts and replies are identical, or close, they consider it spamming – and you will be erased from Facebook. Ironically I was only inviting those I knew were playing the game. They can be found on the Facebook discussion forums (http://www.facebook.com/board.php?uid=2373072738).
If I played other online games and added players that had requested it, what should the threshold be? I have seen numerous Facebook lists for “501 members overnight” for mafia wars. If they can be on Facebook, how can adding 30 or 40 players each week constitute as spam? If there is a limit to the number of people you can message or add in a day or set period of time, why have the “501″ lists not been removed? Often when I played mafia wars, I saw other players who had 1000+ friends. Why have these people not had their accounts disabled?
Current policy is idiotic. First, there are no stated levels for what constitutes as “abuse”. Facebook state that they “cannot provide you with the specific rates that have been deemed abusive”. Secondly, Facebook hosts hundreds of applications, games mostly, where a user is required to add members as “friends” in order to effectively play. I estimate that of the friends list I saw, 85 percent of them were made up of just total strangers who have requested that users add them for games through various “add me” group threads and forums that can be found on Facebook.
Why am I speaking up?
I feel that I have not violation the terms, as Facebook is a social networking site designed to allow people to meet other people with common interests. To be flagged by an automated system for doing what Facebook is *designed* for, i.e., “social networking” is unfair. It’s sad that Facebook would allow such applications to be used on their system and then disable people for its use. Why have a social website and then disable peoples’ accounts for being sociable?

I totally agree with you views as I have experienced the same fate, I love mafia wars on facebook, to lose everything you put your heart into is quite shocking how easy it is to lose it all……with ‘ONE’ CLICK
