Stockholm-technology-wise I’m a little behind the times these days. I just acquired, loaded and used for passage my first SL (Stockholm’s public transit authority) Access card at a terminal.

Where I stood and loaded
Mine is red.

An array of colors
I felt so technologically smooth and clumsy at the same time needing to read the instructions closely.
And this has got to be my fastest post ever. Pulling into Centralen (Stockholm Central Station) now.

Isn’t this wonderful?
We are living in a time where the advances in automation are making it possible to go through our days, multitasking at high speed, with almost no actual human interaction.

But isn’t virtual human interaction, human interaction? Plus I had a meeting, a lunch meeting and a networking meeting while in town…all with face-2-human-interface.
Oh, and I lost money on my card…using clips I would have spent 90kr instead of the 100 I paid for my nifty Access Card. Live and lose.

Are they charging for the access cards now? I got mine for free
Anyways…I love the advances in automation…they are saving our trees
Plus I don’t mind not dealing with some of the SL workers…at least now I have a bit more freedom in choosing who I actually have to have human interactions with.

The plastic card was free but I loaded it with a day pass (100kr). I don’t mind people working at SL, but I’m happy to not have to stand in line waiting for a stamp if I have a pass.
I’m just waiting for them to let you buy one-off usage (that counts down) like a cash card.
