Re-  Bruce in Vancouver’s last take on USA retreats on Swedish glass deal

Bruce in Vancouver,

None of this is funny

I’m writing this feeling considerable stress, since I have other even more pressing matters to attend to.

Please feel free to continue this discussion but in a courteous manner and let it not be hard against hard because if we both maintain forum decorum, neither of us will get into trouble even if it’s possible that only one of us is a master of popular or not so popular invective or not willing to be constrained by the laws of Lashon Hara

You ask three loaded questions, of the type “Have you stopped beating your wife?”  and in each of which is hidden a logical fallacy. You say that you could go on all day, in the same vein, and so I thank you most sincerely that you don’t. I’m familiar with the usual catalogue of crap, the long list of anti-Semitic discontent – and I know how to easily dispense with them.

Your three questions are interlinked, thematically – of course you are talking about Jewish people, not about Muslims or Angels or Mormons or Catholics and I patiently await your own answers to the questions that you yourself have asked.

About question one  – well, you could also ask how is it that  Africa- America is 13% of the US population and yet, has a president of the US of A in the White House. (I’m waiting for your answer. We can discuss that, and by then I’ll have enough time to suggest some answers of my own.

With regard to your question 2, “Why are 75% of the professors at Harvard, Jews?” – is that a fact?  I have older editions of the The Jewish Almanac which state by state give accurate figures for the number of   Jewish students enrolled in the major universities of the United States. Given your 2%, the numbers of Jewish students in the sixties and seventies (I met a few everywhere, even research students in Africa) and you too must admit  that the number of those students  is quite impressive – and in most places accounted for something like 5- 15 %  of the student populations – You must agree that’s a lot of educated people.  It must be that the Jewish people in America set a high premium on education, and not just in playing the violin, for many obvious reasons. Some of these and those who went to school after them must now be working in the various administrations, in the large numbers that you are griping about.

Of course there’s also something that’s legally known as the Jewish Lobby.

Considering that the Jewish People account for approximately 0.2% of the world population ,you could well ask this corollary to your second question: How come that Jews are overrepresented in winning the Nobel Prize?

Perhaps a major cause of jealousy, envy, frustration (and  instead of rejoicing about  some of these blessings to mankind)  anti-Semitism in some quarters:

Jewish Nobel Prize Winners ( up to 2009

As to your third question, “Why is ALL THE MEDIA owned and controlled by Jews?”

C’mon man, WHO told you that all the media is owned and controlled by Jews?????????

I was in Britain during the Monica Lewinsky scandal which the equally moralizing British press took up without abruption with Sunday morning spreads running to over half a dozen pages in the major British papers (The Times, Independent, Telegraph, etc) Do you know that some 300 of the top, most influential US opinion- building papers IN THE USA are owned and controlled by the House of Windsor?

Some say that America never formally ceased being a colony – just as many still maintain that Great Britain is the brain and USA is the muscle.

You can have it your way, Canada…

No I haven’t watched past the first 20 minutes of ”Defamation” last night, but have seen all of “Bruce Almighty” which is quite funny.  I won’t have time to continue with the viewing of this film now, as I am cleaning up most thoroughly for Pesach which starts tomorrow evening. WE wish that we could also clean out the chametz and some of the other dross that habitually resides in minds.

Now why are you being so unkind to Mr. Foxman whose Anti-Defamation League is there to defend the Jewish people against anti-Semitism, bigotry, and extremism leaning on terrorism and terror activities; Mr. Foxman who has never done you any harm?

I’m not saying that he is above criticism – our democracies permit that ( criticism, but not vile anti-Semitism) and here one of my favourite (chosen) journalists Mark Steyn takes him to task without being an anti- Semite…

There are people like Shlomo Sands who must be laughing his head off  and making a fortune in the Arab and Muslim world in particular, having  assembled some “ evidence”  to serve up  what they would like to hear. I saw him smiling on BBC Hardtalk. He and his publisher must be smiling all the way to the bank, raking in more and more petro-dollars.

Well here’s something that you could take a good look at: reflections on one more term that’s used to accuse

You are somewhere talking about the B’nai B’rith whilst I’m in somewhere else talking about Malmö. So what’s happening in Gaza and Vancouver?

I should like to add this profound opinion

for our consideration.

With kind feelings, but not the kind you harbour against Abe Foxman,

Best regards,

Cornelius

A good thing to Imagine: Putting Sweden first.

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

No two ways about it: Hillel the Elder asks,  “If I am not for+myself who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, who am I” ?

It’s a holy thought, just as the selfish, naughty George the unholy, enthusiastically recommends the missionary position with only one aim in mind : to be on top, always.

But what’s good? What’s bad? What’s better? What’s best?

This nationalist feeling is variously expressed in so many ways.

In the beginning of “The True-Born Englishman” Daniel Defoe says

“WHEREVER God erects a house of prayer,
The Devil always builds a chapel there:
And ’twill be found upon examination,
The latter has the largest congregation”

All this excessive nationalism (some call it extremism – when it gets violent) but on the whole we Swedes are a peaceful, law-abiding lot and haven’t been to war for hundreds of years.

So we’ll begin somewhere in the middle:

Some call it protectionism, and what is this protectionism we’ve all been hearing so much about?

Is it good? Is it bad?

The compassionate Dr. Dylan a Polar Prize Winner, first brought the matter to our (the fans) attention in 1983, with this song about the USA people’s situation.

It’s still a matter of quality – and when it comes to excellence, crystal excellence, it’s said that Sweden’s glass makers Orrefors Kosta Boda are second to none. In the world!

As the bard asked,

“Well, you look so pretty in it
Honey, can I jump on it sometime?
Yes, I just wanna see
if it’s really that expensive kind”

It’s called Swedish Quality. Gold Medal.  It’s what comes to mind when you want to get a present that could impress an American visitor who’s got much of everything else. A present fit for a king or for Rabbi Jules Harlow or Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh or for your own wife.

Having boasted so much that even  the erstwhile flip-flopping Hillary Clinton thinks that Swedish glass is nothing but the best kind of glass with which  to decorate or  furnish American embassies throughout the world,  great is our astonishment and greater yet is our disappointment  to hear by unreliable rumour that Charles Schumer says there’s going to be a re-bidding for the contract and that he’s sure that American crystal is going to win it this time. Nothing is official yet and hopefully Orrefors Kosta Boda is still going on at full throttle with their production to fulfill their contractual obligations.  After all nothing’s been officially confirmed yet, and it’s really not such a big deal – only some $5.4 million worth approximately 40 million Swedish crowns. Nothing to go to war over. Or to recall the Swedish Ambassador to Washington, for consultations in Stockholm. (And now we learn that it t wasn’t even Hillary Clinton herself who had chosen  Kosta Boda  but that “Clinton’s State Department handed the $5.4 million contract to a small Washington DC-based firm who in turn brought in Orrefors, one of Sweden’s best-known brands.”

Perhaps the state Department should reconsider, having given their word?

It’s certainly not as pressing as Turkey requesting that the Swedish Parliament repeal the genocidal resolution that it had passed a few days earlier and that was official, coming as it did from the Turkish Prime Minister himself.

Ah, but  when it comes to the impeccable Swedish Crystal it’s the principle that’s at stake. Personal & national  fear in having lost Saab to Ford and then to Holland, and now with Volvo the national engine about to be taken over by China, LM Ericsson and Kosta Boda are among what’s remaining of our national pride, in terms of “Made in Sweden” quality worldwide . Of course we’ve got much more. We’ve got the most stable monarchy – and they’re doing some good work for the nation, in Brazil plumping for GRIPEN just now.

Along with  the Monarchy we’ve got Democracy which they say was made in Greece and exported to other places like the USA, from where they are trying to export it to faraway places like Iraq – so that Iraq can be good neighbours with what’s said to be the only other democracy in the Middle East ( with due apologies to the Kurds)

Of course apart from the Monarchy and Democracy – and the fruits of democracy, there’s infinitely more that Sweden can boast of such as The Alternative Nobel Prize .

More about some of all that later and I’m sorry that I will not be able to do full Justice to the Greatness of Sweden  but I take solace in repenting of such a fault in the assurance with which the rabbi concludes the shiur of the Weekly Torah Portion Tzav

The duel

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

For better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, these memorable famous last words: “I’m not going to raise taxes for the women who work.” (Election Promise Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt made to Mona and the Swedish ladies, late last night, 24th March, 2010)

With a few exceptions such as Aftonabladet of the partisan press most items in the morning news affirm that Mr. Reinfeldt the good Moderate thrashed and slammed the Social Democrat party leader Ms Mona Sahlin in yesterday’s duel on TV 4

I can hardly agree with that – it was certainly not a knock-out – Fredrik the Great wouldn’t do that and couldn’t do that to a lady, not to that kind-hearted Social-Democratic woman who comes off so credibly – as a true friend of the sick, the weak, the lame, the poor and the unemployed. The very lady who he complimented on her fidelity to Social Democrat principles at the end of the debate, when the moderator asked him what he thought of her. No love lost between them. She also politely expressed some liking for him – but – so she said, unfortunately “ he’s a moderate”( she will not compromise party principles) and so we are to suppose, no Havana cigar from Mona. He’ll have to get that from somewhere else. And no cigar from him to her, either. Ditto. I’m sure that Fred thinks that she will have to ask her ailing comrade Fidel Castro for that. Fidelity on both sides. ( I wonder how it could be when a True Moderate (e.g. Carl Bildt) is married to a true Social Democrat.

Such marriages could only be made in heaven.

Otherwise he’d catch hell.

Or worse still, divorce.

In my humble opinion it was more or less a draw last night, since she was still standing on both her legs at the end of the debate and not hanging onto the ropes or blushing under the studio make up which could have fallen off – all that studio make-up, that lipstick and rouge which has a tendency of melting under the glare and heat of the studio lights – was still intact. Anyway, no matter how bad things are,  Our Fredrick the Great Moderate is far too decent to say this kind of unkind thing about an opponent even in merely making a distinction between a hockey mom and an aggressive, clawing, scratching kvinnlig Social Democratic pit bull terrier in full battle mood for debating.

Astrologers ( forbidden consultation) usually say ” as above, so below” and politically speaking, above here would mean what’s happening in other parts of the world, such as France and Britain.

Just after reading this “let’s face it socialism is now dead and buried” and thinking that the Socialists are on the way down, see what happened in France!

And  here too is a reflection of the political jihad or unholy battle for the Muslim vote

Something to look forward to would be a real debate ( with 76 rules) such as the mother of all battles about to take place between General Gordon ( Brown) – not so much of a pudgy British bulldog but reputed to be a formidable intellect and the witty David Cameron who wants to have his day as British Prime Minister and this is one of the questions being asked by some good people

Re – Bomb rocks Malmö

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

There’s this Englishman’s joke of all time, the second item here

This too could be the beginning of a whodunit detective story:

A powerful bomb explosion ripped through the grand old restaurant Hipp on Kalendegatan in central Malmö shortly before 2am on Monday. The building opposite also sustained considerable damage as the explosion could be heard across the southern Swedish city. A fire broke out in the restaurant but was extinguished fairly swiftly. No one was reported hurt but furniture and the inside of the restaurant sustained considerable damage. The area around the landmark Malmö nightspot remained sealed off a couple of hours after the explosion as police technicians searched for an explanation…

The police have been in contact with a large number of witnesses who had heard the explosion but it is as yet unclear if anyone actually saw it.

The Hippodrome building, which today houses a restaurant, theatre and nightclub, was built in 1900. From the 1950s to the 1990s the Hippodrome housed a free church.”…

In the morning and throughout the day large groups of people were to be seen milling around the scene of the disaster and speculation was rife as to who could have done it. MALMÖ has been in the news a lot lately, partly because twenty five percent of its citizens are immigrants. Speculation is that it could have been one of them who did it. Others speculate that it must be some deeper criminal activity, they smell extortion and racketeering and there’s talk about a showdown in the underworld, perhaps just to terrify the restaurant owner who is reluctant to pay protection money or to give in to his persecutor’s demand for a greater  cut in the restaurant’s profit.

Many say that since the assassination of Olof Palme, crime has increased in this country. For example there has been a spate of arson and some 457 schools burned in 2009 and that that and  the many other  incidents of arson in Stockholm is no joke.

This Malmö bomb incident is quite alarming. There’s a lot of prejudice about the matter – as to who could have done it. I  too have been thinking about it, so many miles away from the scene of the crime in Malmö, arriving at the conclusion, that I started off with as a premise, with still no suspect in view: that I am ignorant. Wholly so. Under the  microscope or through Hercule Poirot’s binoculars and completely lacking in even soothsaying ability

Concerning our own prejudices ( many of us have them) and these prejudices can come in many shapes, colours, thoughts, and some of them are overdue for critical self-examination. Still thinking of the difference between e.g. the Dalai Lama( vis-a-vis China) and Moses (vis-a-vis the Pharaoh – and the Divine intervention of LET MY PEOPLE GO) I revisited some words of wisdom from my old school

Here are a few insightful words from Tibet, based on the Four Noble Truths and meditation, but also generally applicable to our usual stereotypical state of being – whether it is in suspecting others, either Christians or Muslims or Jews or Hindus or immigrants or natural born Swedes, or Buddhists or Sikhs or Sufis (heaven forbid) of having perpetrated any of the havoc in Malmö because they are Muslims or Jews or immigrants ( from heaven) or Swedes, or black or yellow or blue.

From pages 93-94 of The Dalai Lama’s Book of Awakening

”An external enemy may be harmful to you today, but tomorrow could be very helpful, whereas the inner enemy is consistently destructive. Moreover wherever you live the inner enemy is always there with you and that makes it very dangerous. In contrast we can often keep an external enemy at some kind of distance”

The DALAI LAMA

Lama Yeshe is saying the same thing here:

From Page 74 of Introduction to Tantra – A vision of Totality

” The great meditation masters of the past have stressed the importance of identifying as exactly as possible the conceptual nonsense of our minds. There is no benefit in using powerful techniques of insight to overcome a vague or merely theoretical wrong view of self. This will not help us at all. We have to identify the root of our difficulties by looking deeply into our own mind for its characteristic misconceptions. Only then will it be possible for us to attack the fundamental causes of our problems.

Otherwise it is as if our enemy was approaching from the East and we were pointing our weapon towards the West.”

Obamacare ( cannot pass without comment – the whole world ’s talking…

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

“Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years
Since it’s been clear
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It’s alright
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
It’s alright
It’s alright.”

Obama cares

Yes he does, and yes he can

Obamacare

( Originally in response to Gonzo of Mexico upon first reading his piece):

Over here we the people are also rejoicing. It’s the kind of compassionate ideology that could be canned or packaged and exported for mass consumption in Africa

As the man said, “If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible…”

It’s fantastic, it’s finally happening, was happening, has happened! Obamacare – People-care!

As Yes We Can said on Day One, Change has come to America. A great thing has happened in America. By getting that Health Reform Bill through, even though it’s a watered down version of Brother Obama’s original intentions, the United States of America has become more like its humanitarian role-model Sweden, but they still have a long way to go in having to contend with/ against that robbing Peter to pay Paul mentality.

It’s been a long journey

To Uncle (2) Mona slams Erdogan

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Amended:

Simple Simon says:

First things first and this is not merely to you:

Israel faces real existential danger on several fronts – and in my view Israel needs as many friends as we can have. Therefore, your word about Turkey’s abiding love for Israel is reassuring.

However, I do not and cannot take your word for it that there is “no danger of elimination of Israel by Iran”.

I am not that foolish or naïve especially not about Iran, a nation that has a martyrdom complex ( Imam Hussein alaihi salaam – the Prince of Martyrs) and granted – a martyrdom complex is not the same as a suicide-bomber pathology – but this martyrdom complex can – under pressure transform itself into a compulsive national psychosis at the service of a rabid anti-Semitism and Hamas-inspired anti-Zionism that with the help of Islam’s “Allah” wants to wipe Israel off the map, and of course, to inherit the world, the whole world – and yet you – “do not believe that it actually wants the bomb” – or the sense of power and prestige and reassurance that it would give them, just having it safely in their possession.

If Saddam had had nuclear weapons – against Iran, he’d have probably used or threatened to use them.

If Saddam had had nuclear weapons – and could have deployed them within 45 minutes as Tony Blair assured the House of Commons just before they took that crucial vote to go to war – if Saddam had had those weapons, he’d have said to George Bush , ” Kuffar, come on up, I’m waiting for ya!”

Should Iran obtain nuclear weapons, WHO would dare invade them or fight them?

Iran learned the bitter lesson – the war which Iraq imposed on Iran came to an end because Iran could no longer obtain weapons from anywhere and then Imam Khomeini (r.a.) unfortunately had to drink the cup of poison

If what you say is correct ( Iran being taunted about having nuclear weapons but being unable to use them because of MAD ( mutually assured destruction) then there’s also the psychological boost – and for the other Muslim nations in the neighbourhood (who would be open to threats of being attacked by the new nuclear kid on the block ( e.g. Kuwait who were invaded because they had not  paid enough protection money to Saddam) Iran power – Shia power would be a challenge – and that psychological threshold would also have to be passed (“We have it, you don’t”) and then – for real – as you know – the nuclear arms race would have kicked off in the most dangerous Middle East. Should Iran have the bomb it means that Hezbollah have it too and by that time Hamas would be upgrading their covenant with Iran and even more firmly resolved to never abrogate Article11 of their Charter

(Of course an arms race in the Middle East would be good for business for those who build nuclear weapons. Just now it’s congratulations to Brother Obama who is now real and empowered by his first great achievement the Health Reform Bill- and now he can take care of Iran. He is no one’s lame duck president! We should think that he’s more like this machine

The Turks think of themselves as much better than the Arabs or Persians? I didn’t know that but do know that the Turks are real fighters and have tasted real power ( the Ottoman Empire) and that the Persian Iranians pride themselves in being the true Aryans and can boast of a several thousand year civilisation, so that when the Prophet of Islam – salallahu alaihi wa salaam – as illustrated in the film The Message sent a messenger to the Persian King inviting him to accept Islam for his own salvation, the King angrily responds to the messenger, “You come out of the desert smelling of camel and goat, to tell a Persian where he should kneel?”

And somewhere else, after Islam, the Persians claim superiority to Arabs by claiming descent from the line of Abraham, through Isaac…yet Shiism’s anti-Semitism is a little more virulent – than Sunnism’s at least ritualistically speaking, since in Shiism – shaking the wet hand of a Jew necessitates renewing wudu ( ritual ablution) since the Jew in Shiism has been relegated to the category of the unclean – and this too perhaps because the Sunni accuse Shia Islam of  being a religion that was created by Abdullah Ibn Saba a Jewish man who allegedly went around preaching that just as Moses had Aaron as his right hand man so too Muhammad – salallahu alaihi wa salaam had Ali – alaihi salaam as the right hand man who should have been the successor to Muhammad (SAW) … except of course that it was Joshua who succeeded Moses  as leader, since Aaron his older brother passed away before him at the age of 123 years and all Israel wept and mourned for thirty days.

Perhaps to counter-distinguish themselves from Jewish practices and to take a greater distance from their alleged origin – as Muslims, they (the Shia) have created this even greater ritual separation from Jews. Interestingly enough in doing their ablutions, according to Shia ritual the water is passed from the right hand to the left hand – to first wash the right hand, precisely like a Levite…

But in my view, the Arabs are more freedom-loving and less tied down (or tied up) to the structures of Papal-like religious authority that devolves downward from the Marja-e-taqlid.

Muslims are not supposed to think of themselves as basically Turk or Arab or Persian. They are supposed to identify first and foremost as Muslims, good human beings….

Please pray for us all

To Uncle ( re – Sahlin slams Erdogan over expulsion threat)

RE :

Sahlin slams Erdogan over expulsion threat

Uncle,

Excuse me: I wasn’t comparing Israel to China; I was talking about the competition between capitalist America and Communist China, for Africa – and Africa’s raw materials. That China is taking Africa without firing a shot – doing business in Zambia for example and building all over Africa whilst Obama is bogged down in Afghanistan – and what is he doing for Africa apart from being determined to set up Africom ( military bases) perhaps eventually to fight the Chinese. What is he doing in the Congo?

This should interest you

Part of The Stone edition Chumash introduction to this past Sabbath’s Torah Portion , Parashat Vayikra reads ; “The Sages teach that God spoke to Moses with a loud, thunderous voice, but only he was able to hear it. (Rashi) If the people were not meant to hear God’s voice, why was it necessary for Him to speak so loudly? The sages wish to teach us that even though we know the commandments only from Moses, we should bear in mind that God’s voice was loud enough for everyone to hear it; it was the people  who were not worthy of hearing it. Accordingly we should consider ourselves as if each Jew personally had been commanded by God. For that same reason, all future Jewish souls were at Sinai when the Ten Commandments were given. Souls without bodies are not obliged to keep commandments, but God wanted all future generations to know that the Torah was meant for them as much as for those who left Egypt. (R’ Moshe Feinstein) “

Just last week, some hate-filled, semi-literate Iranian refugee( Iranians are usually very very literate, poetic, philosophical, literary, musical  and full of mahaba but not this one)  and  with what I intuited was calculated and intentional  racism that he wanted to convey, he told me that “ Israel is where “the real Jews” are.”  A lot of Zion philosophy in that observation after all and when the Messiah comes it will be high time for the whole Diaspora to make Aliya. In the meantime I suppose that he is not a real Iranian either and that’s why he is here in Sweden and  going out of his head because I said “salallahu alaihi wa salaam after mentioning the Iranian prophet’s name and because I don’t compare his leader to Hitler.

Israel has its destiny in the hands of the Almighty. From the outside there are all kinds of correct and incorrect views. From the inside (from the heart too) the understanding is always Israel and the nations . Even eschatologically, the Jewish nature of the state.

Israel is the Suffering Servant.  Israel as the reference point of where everyone stands means that Jerusalem is the centre of the geopolitical world. It’s always in focus. More than Beijing presently smothered in a fog of dust, or Washington or Berlin.

“Mr. Balfour, supposing I was to offer you Paris instead of London, would you take it?” He sat up, looked at me, and answered: “But Dr. Weizmann, we have London.” “That is true,” I said, “but we had Jerusalem when London was a marsh.” He … said two things which I remember vividly. The first was: “Are there many Jews who think like you?” I answered: “I believe I speak the mind of millions of Jews whom you will never see and who cannot speak for themselves.”… To this he said: “If that is so you will one day be a force.”

It’s currently reckoned that to all intents and purposes, Israel is the 51st State of the United States of America – and the relationship is as  “rock-solid” as Madeleine Albright once reassured the world and as all her predecessors and those who have come after her thus far continue to assert.  The opposition  ( the racist anti-Semites and anti-Zionists) have a lot of fun  asking why the United States  under George Bush did  not  think it fit to give the Jewish nation and Diaspora  a part of Texas – whilst others regret that  Uganda  ( the pearl of Africa) or better still Madagascar had not been chosen as the homeland in the letter from Lord Balflour. Others have thought that since the Germans decimated the Jewish people through the Holocaust, the Jewish people, especially the Ashkenazim should have in the name of Justice and reparation, been given half of Germany.

Apart from friends Fredrik Reinfeldt and Carl Bildt who are very strongly supportive of Turkey entering the EU -  the rest ( Islamophobists)  led by Pope Benedictus XVI and Greece  and Russia ( of course) and the other Christian nations who say that Turkey is guilty of crucifying 1.5 million of  Christ’s children in Armenia  are determined to keep Turkey out of the EU and I think the major fear is of Turkey being an Islamic Trojan Horse that with access to free borders to cross over  will rapidly spread Islam not only in Germany where there are already over two million Turks but also here in dear Sweden with the new mosque at Fittja as the headquarters of Dawa.

If Turkey is rejected then Turkey will turn elsewhere and cause some major headaches.

Turkey is capable of being a lot worse than Iran and you know that there’s nothing to equal the fury of the rejected lover.

In the meantime Shia Iran probably wants to manufacture that nuclear bomb or two as fast as they can, and to become the undisputed leader of Islam with such awesome fire-power. The most unfortunate aspect of this militarization of Islam is that they achieve unity of purpose by demonizing Israel, in the same way that they demonized Saddam and with Israel as the focal reference point of their hatred it seems that anti- Semitism and anti-Zionism has now become the 6th pillar of Sunni Islam and it wouldn’t surprise me that it is now part of Shia Usool visible but not stated, a part of Kitman, in the spirit of Taqiyya which is all pervasive among the true Shia.

PS.  At least glancing through the first four top items here, we can now lay to rest any worries about Turkey – Israel relations

Saturday night (nightmare)

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

This may surprise you and since you too live on this planet if you think that you are relevant it must also concern you and me and all of us in Sweden, even if you are neutral, non-aligned and unattached – like good Buddhists when you hear “You’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists”

All these earthquakes and Tsunamis, pestilences like Swine flu, HIV –Aids, hunger and starvation, war in so many nations – and rumours of war…

You might well think that it has no place here, but here, Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan is warning America leader of the free world and yet, he’s still living there.

That was the Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan

3. Now this man Moses was exceedingly humble, more so than any person on the face of the earth

Long way to go:

” Rabbi Pinchas ben Ya’ir says:
Zeal leads to cleanliness
And cleanliness leads to purity
And purity leads to self-restraint
And self-restraint leads to holiness
And holiness leads to humility
And humility leads to fear of sin
And fear of sin leads to piety
And piety leads to the Holy Spirit
And the Holy Spirit leads to the revival of the dead
And the revival of the dead comes because of Elijah, whose memory is a blessing. Amen.”

(Mishnah Tractate,  Sotah 9:15)

Anyway, this Sunday I hope to amicably conclude “Great Sweden and Mighty Turkey” peaceably as now, even now this battle has only just begun.

A Short note : Re – “Sahlin slams Erdogan over expulsion threat”

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Papa don’t take no mess

As  I pointed out quite some time ago, and this I know from my studies, that on the whole  the Turks and Turkey

have been good to the Jewish people

There are  a few weird instances in the history of that relationship  such as the false Messiah Sabbatai Zevi of Izmir  who, upon finally arriving at the court of the Sultan in Istanbul  was given the stern choice of either accepting Islam or facing execution at the sharp edge of the sword.

” Ok Mr. Messiah, either you accept Islam or you die !”

He accepted Islam. The despair among his followers was mainly suicidal. The ultimate explanation of Zvi’s apostasy  – as understood by his still faithful adherents was that he must first descend into the very depths of hell by accepting Islam, to redeem some sparks from there, before ascending again. Something like that.

Of course, the Social Democrat’s Mona Sahlin in her capacity of  future Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affiairs is more strident in battle against  Prime Minister Erdogan  and the people of Turkey  than she has been against her anti-Semitic Mayor Ilmar Reepalu of Malmö, which is in Sweden’s  Deep South.

On Sunday when I get round to concluding ” Great Sweden and Mighty Turkey” I will translate the complete interview with  Mr. Bagis – as that will bring greater clarity to the discussion, with words coming from the horse’s mouth – and not just from Mona Sahlin’s.

The idea of “Transfer of Population” has been bandied around as a part solution to the Palestinian problem. It has its pros and cons

N.B: The great Jay Jay Okocha is a Turkish citizen

What could cause xenophobia to circulate as a virulent national virus and for that spirit of xenophobia to be directed to a select group in Turkey – the Armenian people as the target?

Such is not the case in Turkey.

Should the Turkish people feel guilty about what the Swedish Parliamentary Resolution  accuses them of having committed about a hundred years ago – when the proposed joint commission of Armenian and Turkish authorities have yet to open up all the archives ( including the ones in Boston which the Armenian historians have not made available to non-Armenian historians, especially not to Turkish historians?

Deportation

Looking at this matter dispassionately ( that no one is an alien – and deportation is an ugly word and an ugly act, when one considers the history of deportation, mass deportation is a reprehensible act , then  the mass deportation of Armenians who are presently  welcome to stay and have been enjoying permanent residence there – in Turkey – would also be  reprehensible, especially as a reaction to the Swedish Resolution.

Deportation of Armenians

In my opinion, Mona Sahlin is talking ”klarspråk” in responding to what she believes are the Turkish Prime Minister’s intentions.

However I have another understanding of his remarks (Turkey’s Prime Minister) and what I understand him to mean is this:

” Looka here: you guys are telling us that we are a nation of Muslim demons and that we exterminated one and a half million Armenian Christians in cold blood. This is far from the truth.

Today we have 170,000 Armenians living amongst us. 70, 000 of them have become Turkish citizens. Think about that. And 100,000 of them are living amongst us and have been living amongst us without naturalizing – and if Turkey was in fact hostile to Armenians in the manner that you want to suggest, then they could have been expelled from Turkey a long time ago. We have the authority to expel them as persona non grata – and could do so if  it became necessary. But that is not our intention. We intend to improve Turkish-Armenian relations and that’s  what we’ve been trying to do for quite some time now  -it’s just that these kind of Swedish Resolutions ( passed by the Swedish opposition parties)  are not being very helpful in trying to achieve that goal.  We are grateful for the sympathy and understanding that we are receiving from our friends  Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt who have promised  continued support for our application to join the European Union.”

I do not think that Mr Erdogan was issuing a threat or that what he said could be construed to mean that he was going to deport anybody, or everybody – except of course perhaps some trouble makers who would or could want to foment trouble for the Turkish State in order to create more problems for Turkish entry into the European Union.

The Kurdish problem is still a very relevant one, considering that FIVE Kurdish members of the Swedish parliament  voted for the resolution, and that includes three who broke ranks with their own  party, in order to do so. It’s been perceived in certain quarters that the Kurds also  bore some reponsibility for the alleged genocide of Armenians during the first world war and that the Kurds have apologised for  the atrocities that they have been accused of having perpetrated.

I should like to add that according to my reliable source, it is extremely doubtful that the Kurds are going to vote for the Social Democrat Party,  for the simple reason that at their Congress  the Social Democrat Party apparently had come to a common understanding and agreement  that genocide  had  been committed against the Kurdish people  too and that the Kurdish people  had been decimated by 250,000 souls  but that when it came to including the Kurdish people in the Parliamentary resolution, the Social Democrats refused to do so and “limited” the Resolution of genocide as having been only  genocide perpetrated  against Armenians, Assyrians/Syrians, Chaldeans and Pontic Greeks only – and refused to include the Kurds as victims.

The Nationalist Kurds are angry. Nearly all Kurds are nationalists or nationalisitic, and in their souls, long for a Kurdistan that they can call their own.

The Social Democrats are perhaps taking a calculated risk , that what they lose of the Kurdish vote they can gain from the Arab vote and the vote of other minority groups which are less homogenous. As far as winning the elections are concerned, it’s a question of numbers – and the reality is that you can’t win them all.

Re- Some more blah

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

re- Mona, Muslims and the September vote, I’d just like to add that I have never met a Kurd who was not to the left, politically (if he was not immersed in a religious agenda – and as someone pointed out to me, Kurds are variously subsumed under national identities such as Iranian, Iraqi, Turkish or Sunni – the sort of identities /classifications that turn up in statistics which sometimes conceal the actual number of Kurds in Sweden.

Meanwhile in NIGERIA which is Africa’s most populous country and from which the good oil flows

Please pray for us…
