Once Upon a time, when everything was not as quiet, there was the 1st Intifada, followed by the 2nd Intifada. That was a long and bloody chapter in the history of Israel. The history of the people of Israel continues.
In the meanwhile, back home in We Sweden, far-reaching plans are being hatched to launch “the Second Flotilla “ – this time a Grand Flotilla which will float to Judenrein Gaza, unimpeded.
Considering what happened the last time, it seems that the same dedicated people, Gardell, Mankell and Freiler are putting their trust where their mouth is : in their mountainous courage and also in the admirals of the joint venture to navigate according to the compass – stay on course, challenge fate, have an historic meeting with destiny.
And the possible dire consequences, have they thought about that? There’s no doubt that they have some faith in their cause, although I’m sure (almost sure) that none of the trio has arrived at the level of certainty of the suicide bomber about their place in history or the immediate enjoyments to be enjoyed in the sunny hereafter. Just now, talking about the possible dire consequences, their bravery, courage and commitment to this act of defiance – on the outside at least leaves us with the impression that they are saying,“and to hell with any dire consequences !” At the same time – as I said before, I’m sure, almost sure, that none of the three aforementioned has a martyrdom/martyrology complex.
One thing you cannot say about them is that they are scared ( they are not niggers).
On the Ides of March, Caesar did say “.Danger knows full well, that Caesar is more dangerous than he. We are two lions litter’d in one day, And I the elder and more terrible”….
Whilst a more cautious Robert Burns did observe that
“The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men
Gang aft agley.”
Some of the discussion about a foreign policy in action that
Gardell ( the brain)
Mankell ( the Father)
and Freiler ( the artist) are heir to,
has been carried on here
Bear with me : From a Taj Mahal song, “ Scattered”
“Cross hairs search the jungle plain
For those who go against the grain
Lion hunts too far from home
Steps into the danger zone
Victim of some unwritten law
The hunger at his belly gnaws
The hunter and the hunted blur
Depending upon the caliber “
For me, several questions remain, chief of which is: What protection can be offered to defiant Swedish citizens who sail all the way from a safe harbour in Malmö ( a good support base) – all the way to the uncertainties of what-s known as the international waters that must be crossed before entering sovereign Israel waters in and on which Heil HaYam HaYisraeli reigns supreme
Mankell – probably not in a hurry to lose another manuscript – might still be on board one of the less confrontational in the Armada – or born again as Hemingway in the thick of where the action is – in the first person narrative with him himself in the eye of the storm – much to write home about – or keep the manuscript in his head and don’t lose it…..
It would all sound less intimidating and still uncertain if the Flotilla set off as a Flotilla Festival, something of a colourful regatta, perhaps with with big fish like Archbishop Tutu on board – and for extra colour Mary Robinson and for good good measure, a very concerned Louis Farrakhan, concerned about the conditions of the brothers and sisters of another nation of Islam, the Gaza nation of Hamastan
Penultimately, Dror Freiler hit the limelight with his Snow White swimming in a sea of blood which got the Israeli ambassador in Stockholm, We Sweden, Mr. Zvi Mazel to see red
And here too some other questions are answered about the self-hating Jew.
Meanwhile much is happening even before the flotilla takes off
Who can rewrite destiny? Think about this seriously :The Rabbis say, that Tzedakah helps.
Do have a pleasant Sunday afternoon everybody…
