“. ..when something isn’t right it’s wrong “ ( Dylan)
Where is the much desired public opinion about this?
Reepalu must have a sense of responsibility.
Re : http://www.thelocal.se/32674/20110318/
This is Mayor Reepalu’s public perspective on world history and the Middle East conflict as transposed to Malmöstan in Sweden: his words : “I have said that it is always dangerous when one group considers itself worth more than another group of people. When people say that we have a right to take your land because we have some form of thousand-year promise from God that this is our land, then it creates conflicts” .
Isn’t he stoking the fires of conflict when he makes such public utterances or talks like that to his Muslim constituency in Malmö? Is it any surprise then that Malmö has become increasingly anti-Semitic, with Reepalu on the side of the anti-Semites, falsifying their claims and JUSTIFYING their anti-Semitism?
Reepalu should resign.
A politician like Reepalu, Mayor of Sweden’s third largest city is certainly not being paid by the taxpayer’s money to make all these loud, bigoted, grovelling anti-Semitic noises or to start talking like the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Reepalu has been saying these horrible things for a long time now; it’s not as if it was a slip of the tongue or the occasional faux pas that some politicians can be guilty of. We are talking about a MAYOR of a city in Sweden – of Malmö, not of Damascus or Tehran or of Hezbollah land…..
The Prime Minister of Sweden would not be permitted to make the many, many anti-Semitic statements that have come out of Mayor Reepalu. Nor would any member of his cabinet – in Sweden or in a Western Democracy. So why should Reepalu , still in what is considered the dignified & responsible public office of Mayor, be allowed to get away with this?
Let’s look at it this way: Rotterdam which is the second largest city in Holland, has an Arab of Moroccan origin as its mayor – he is of the Muslim faith – yet we do not find him using his public office as Mayor of Rotterdam to express any of the kinds of nauseous anti-Semitic sentiments that Mayor Reepalu has been emitting. All forms of anti-Semitism are disgusting in the extreme and if I were being possessed by the evil artistic spirit/genii of Lars Vilks, and was extended the same artistic licence in the same gaseous spirit of iconoclast poetry or prose I should be complaining about “these nauseous anti-Semitic sentiments that Mayor Reepalu has been emitting from his canine hind quarters.”.
I know that that’s no way to speak of a mayor.
But the history of Reepalu’s anti-Semitism is a long one: all the evidence needed is contained in his many public utterances as variously reported – unchallenged by him – in the Swedish and International press.
“ The conflict between the US-based Wiesenthal Center and Malmö mayor Ilmar Reepalu “ did not begin yesterday: the statement contained here is Dr. Shimon Samuels’ from last year when Reepalu thought he was deserving and wanted to compete for the dignified title of “World Mayor”
As to the exact contents of the letter itself , is it not reasonable to look into the idea of setting up a special unit ? Prevention is better than cure – especially when we are talking about protecting the lives, limbs and property of the specially targeted and throughout history especially endangered species due to the fires of hatred which feed anti-Semitism……
For balance, I should like to gladly recommend this documentary to Mayor Reepalu: The Case for Israel -and even the pro and con discussions that are the followup…..
Also of relevance since Reepalu is Mayor of Malmö and not Mayor of Jerusalem: Swedish- Israel Information
Just see http://www.thereligionofpeace.com and http://www.compassdirect.org Malmo is finished ,lets bury it.

Absurd. What you call “anti-Semetic” are the political leanings of most of my Israeli friends who are sick of Netanyahu’s fascistic “government” — a ruling cabal installed by the most reactionary elements of Israeli society. I say this as a Jew who has always admired Israel, but who rationally can discriminate between the people and society and the politicians who can either elevate or debase the social discourse and indeed the nation’s history. Your screaming epithets at Mayor Reepalu because he exercises that essential discrimination does nothing for your cause, nor for the well being of Israelis or Jews at large. The alarmist establishment that ultimately is part of the right-wing political machine in Israel and elsewhere is the real minority among Jews. Rather than secure a lasting peace it exploits current tensions. You’re a pawn.
