The spontaneous jubilation, the royal baby fever ( every Royalist Swede and quiz enthusiast knows her height and weight at birth) and the 42 cannon royal gun salute that followed the announcement of her blessed birth was in turn followed by national and international speculation and hysteria about what her name was going to be or should be. It’s a question that was asked the general public by many of today’s Swedish newspapers/ media. As a matter of fact the speculation started even before yesterday.

She is Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland ! What a beautiful, fulsome, modern feminine name for – B‘ezrat Hashem – a sure to be a modern monarch! I like the blessed “el” part of it most.
Victoria is a rather old fashioned name – and Queen Victoria on whose empire the sun never set was an outstanding monarch just as her namesake Princess Victoria of Sweden even at her young age has already made history in many ways as an outstanding Crown Princess and is much loved by her subjects the people of Sweden, at home and abroad….
