Another weekend

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Sometimes calm weekends when nothing really happens are what you need the most. Then one realizes the need to reload and to melt what has happened during the past week. Except from Friday evening I haven’t done much at all. The visit at IKEA resulted in a new coverlet, rug and a coffee-table to my room. A long with my new pillows from H&M’s new Home showroom my room is a lot more cosier and nicer to be in. I’ll try to take a photo of my room tonight and then I could upload it here. And I really enjoyed the Home showroom, I must say that I was really amazed and impressed by all the special designed stuff they had. When my next pay check comes in October I think I’ll go there and buy a bit more!

When we came home from IKEA we ate dinner and then we watched The Pianist. This is one of my favourite films of all time, Adrien Brody illustrates the main character Wladek’s opinions and feelings perfectly just with his body language. It’s a film I never could become tired of and watch all over again, because even though you know the beginning, story and end it’s always exciting to watch it. Personally I have always been interested by the holocaust, I have no clue why, but I have read so many books, films, documentaries etc. about the subject.

Today also was a nice day, I bought the new book Knit Two by Kate Jacobs and a notebook. I think I really miss to write on paper, if you know what I mean. Then my boyfriend and I took a walk with his dog.  But now I have to go as I must cook dinner tonight. Talk to you soon.

Pool night and a salary increase

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Hey people!

I know I haven’t written for a while now, but I’m just so lazy (which I usually am on my free time when I don’t have anything to do. That is also a reason for why I haven’t exercised since the beginning of August). Right now I’m sitting in front of the computer (haha no shit) eating a grapefruit and waiting for my dad to pick my boyfriend and I up and then we’ll go to IKEA.

It went awesome at work this week so my contract was renewed and I also got a salary increase. Woohoo!

Yesterday I had planned to have an evening at home eating candy as my date with my colleagues was cancelled, but that plan was ruined as my boyfriend instead convinced me to go to Biljardpalatset (Pool = biljard in Swedish) in Stockholm. However it turned out to be a really nice night out as there were a lot of our friends there. My girlfriends and I didn’t play pool at all, instead we watched the guy play, but that was really enjoyable also! And love could have been in the air too… My boyfriend’s friend and my girlfriend found each other right beside the pool table!

Now I really should call my dad and ask him when we’re going to IKEA. Arrivederci!

A list

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

I define myself as…. Stubborn. I never give up with something hard, even if it feels hopeless!

My goal right now is… to save so much money of my salary that I can.

My goal in life is to… see and experience 90 per cent of the world and also the feeling of that I’ve changed the world a bit (hopefully to the better :P )

My sense of style could be described as… I dunno, trendy, Swedish perhaps? I have a looot of clothes

My best buy ever is… A vintage black leather jacket.

I admire people who… really are themselves and don’t give a shit if someone thinks otherwise.

Something I can’t stand is… people that complain about everything all the time. Come on, think more of the positive things in your life!

My perfect Friday is spent… differently. Sometimes at home in the sofa before the telly with a bowl of candy, with my boyfriend or a night out with my friends.

My perfect Sunday morning is spent… in bed with my boyfriend with a breakfast tray (that he has made ;) (which never happens…))

If I had 100.000 I would… save half or more than half of it to tuition fees (=very expensive in the UK) and the rest would I book a trip and shop for!

My dream profession is… journalist for a major British/Swedish newspaper.

My biggest turn-off is… Selfishness.

My biggest turn-on is… when a man treats me like a princess and has the cutest smile ever. A fit body is also very nice. :)

My most attractive feature is… I dunno. I do like my legs though :)

My least attractive feature is… Sometimes I just hate my stomach!

People describe me as… reliable, hilarious and nice.

I mostly get compliments for my… hair, face and legs. :)

Something I wouldn’t do for money is… sell myself! …

I’m in love with… my boyfriend, Joel <3

Funniest thing I ever saw… oh gosh… I dunno. Probably something that my best friend has done!

Just dreaming a bit

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Sorry for no blog posts for a while! Must really become better at log into the computer :P . Anyway, I just came home after some hours at a bar with some beloved friends. One of them, Mikaela, moved to London in June but is here now on vacation – and it’s so fun that she’s here again! It wasn’t until now that I realized how much I have missed her, how empty it has been here in away. And I’m jealous at her! She gets to live in the cool town London, work as a bartender, meeting cool people and I’m stuck here, working and still living at home. I’m thinking of perhaps heading off to perhaps London in the spring for a couple of months. Meanwhile I’m already excited to go to uni next year!

Well well, enough with the dreams perhaps..? Have to get some sleep now!

19

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

So now my birthday has passed and now I’m one year older, so far I haven’t noticed a difference. 19 is not a special age at all in Sweden, the legal age for drinking is 18 and you have to be 2o to buy alcohol. At least now I can drink legally in Canada though! Anyway, the dinner last night was nice – a lot of my friends came to my small apartment and ate vegetarian lasagna and my famous chocolate mousse cake.

I got some nice presents too; products from The Body Shop, a new charm (an airplane) for my Thomas Sabo bracelet, a treatment at the Central Bath in Stockholm and a bit more. But no shoes :( . However, I’m soon heading off to the Clarion Hotel for a brunch and then I probably get some more presents! Oh, look what the time is… I should find some heels that I’ll wear today. :)

My 19th birthday tomorrow!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

It’s my birthday tomorrow! I’m turning 19 and it doesn’t feel special at all, I haven’t even done a wishing list! But it will be great anyway, I’ll spend the evening with my friends with a dinner and then we’ll go clubbing. So excited! Last year’s birthday ended up in disaster so I hope this one will become better. And, sorry for bad updates – my internet was messing with me and then I became a bit sick so that I had to stay at home from work. :(

But I have said that I would like to have shoes as presents or money for shoes! I just looove shoes and I’ve seen so nice fall heels. Beautiful. sto-3
I would be pleased if I got a pair of shoes like these. :)

But now I have to run to work… Have a nice day!

An ordinary day at Amnesty

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

Today when I worked at Götgatsbacken in Stockholm I met one of my dear old teachers! She came walking with her cute cocker spaniel dogs and seemed to enjoy her life as a pensioner. She already was a member of Amnesty though.

What I love with my job is all the conversations  I get to have with so many different kinds of people. It’s a bit sad that the people of Stockholm are quite reserved and that we have the environment of that you shouldn’t approach a stranger. Don’t you think we should change that? Swedes, and specially people of the Stockholm area, are so stressed all the time, allways in a hurry somewhere. People in other countries, like UK, allways seem to have a minute over for a stranger.

As Swedes are as they are, I think members’ recruiters really appreciate when there’s someone who stops and listen to what they have to say. There’s so many great people in Stockholm, if you haven’t been here – please come and you’ll love them even if they are in a hurry. I promise :)
