LONDON CALLING!

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Oh gosh, I didn’t think so many people would comment on my previous post, proves how important it is to discuss the issue. Some of you seemed to believe that I meant that suicide bombers are not a problem at all in our society, that wasn’t my intention. It is an issue and it’s something that politicians need to discuss and also perhaps think about the security, however, I don’t think it’s a solution to blame a particular ethnic group. It will be interesting to see how the situation is in Sweden, if they have increased the security at airports etc. I’ll update you guys. :)

Speaking of Sweden, it’s time for me to go home tomorrow and therefore I’m in London at the moment. It’s very convenient to have a close friend who lives here. The trip here was not fun though. I noticed that I had forgotten my phone at home when I had arrived to Cardiff Central. It was only 25 minutes before my bus left, but I’m quite dependent of my phone (otherwise I wouldn’t been able to contact my friend), so I took another taxi back to the halls. Missed my bus but found my phone on my desk. So stupid of me to just leave it there! Then I went back to Cardiff Central, bought a train ticket and thought I would arrive earlier to London. Or not. There were some problems with the signals when my train came to Swindon which meant that I had to change train. Anyhow, I finally arrived to London Paddington at 6 p.m, ca 2½ hours late!

Conclusion of this experience? Well the next time I forget my phone or something else I might just leave it. Missing a bus is not always worth it… Anyhow! We’re going out soon, I’m quite excited!

Just dreaming a bit

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Sorry for no blog posts for a while! Must really become better at log into the computer :P . Anyway, I just came home after some hours at a bar with some beloved friends. One of them, Mikaela, moved to London in June but is here now on vacation – and it’s so fun that she’s here again! It wasn’t until now that I realized how much I have missed her, how empty it has been here in away. And I’m jealous at her! She gets to live in the cool town London, work as a bartender, meeting cool people and I’m stuck here, working and still living at home. I’m thinking of perhaps heading off to perhaps London in the spring for a couple of months. Meanwhile I’m already excited to go to uni next year!

Well well, enough with the dreams perhaps..? Have to get some sleep now!

Yes, yes, yes!

A woman from Amnesty called me an hour ago about a job that I’ve applied for and she wanted me to come for an interview! When everything feels really  impossible something good and hopeful happens. I hope I get to work at Amnesty, the position seem to be something I would like to do. So this weekend my homework is to research about Amnesty and figure out good things to say at the interview. Have always been interested by working with human rights and to study international relations, so it will probably work out.

I’m so glad that the weather is so summerish and nice!? I’ve spent the day outside in the sun and I’ll soon meet my family for a BBQ. Then my boyfriend and I will head off to his place for some ‘quality time’. We’ll be watching The Notebook, i.e. I will notebook him! Anyone familiar with that term? Well, google it an you’ll find out but I can say that this movie is perfect if you just want to have a cosy time with a man. If you haven’t tried it you must do it (I haven’t tested it myself so I’m a bit curious about the outcome ;) )!

"The ice dripped in the winter sun. It was the first day when the light had been intense enough to cause dripping in the sunlight. To hear it was an extraordinary wakeup call.
