This weekend was a lovely time to spend in Sweden. I visited a small place called Utrike. It is a very small place, basically in the middle of nowhere and around one hours drive from Norrkoping.
It was nice to see this side of Sweden as living in a city the size of London it is hard to understand why there are so few people living in Sweden compared to the UK. When I escape the madness of London and go to the English countryside I am still surrounded by tourists, cars, planes and shops. But this place was different, you could close your eyes and hear nothing but nature, the stillness of the water and the gentle breeze from the pin trees seemed to play a symphony in the air.
My mind was free and it felt perfect. It was great to visit this place as it brought me back to a sense of nature and a place where all seemed calm and still. It is another reason why I cannot wait to get over there. I will be working in either Stockholm or Goteborg but knowing that I can just escape to a place like Utrike and remove the worries of city life is a lovely thought.
I also went to a Wurplugis festival and was amazed to see how many families turned out. You can listen to my thoughts on the Ipadio Blog below. Also here are two photos from Utrike and Wurplugis night in Norrkoping.
