The Stripes grab another three points
In no way can this game be regarded as a classic by Långholmen fc, but at the end of the day they will be happy to have secured all three points against a stubborn Järla team. The Stripes will play much better in other games this season and come away with nothing from them.
As early as the 3rd minute the Järla defence were caught napping when the effective combination of Björlund Bergström and Kenny once again proved fruitfull. The young Swede left his marker for dead after picking up the ball on the flank, he then delivered an inch perfect ball to Kenny who wasted no time in slotting home from ten yards. Järla had lost their opening league encounter by seven goals and were determined to make amends. The away side created more chances in the opening twenty minutes and were unlucky when their tall striker crashed a shot against the cross bar.
Edwin Bergquist had another fine game and is really oozing with confidence at the moment, looking very comfortable at set pieces and cross balls. Långholmen got their second goal thanks to a deflected corner by Erik Forsberg. Björlund Bergström played the ball in to the front post and the helpless Forsberg could only see the ball canon off his body and past Eriksson in goal. Långholmen lost a lot of possession in the second half of the game and at times were struggling to get there game together. Oscar Hentmark should of scored when he receieved the ball just outside the box but took a touch too many and the keeper was able to retrieve the ball. Järla looked more likely to score and then came Långholmens third, the ball was swept in from a corner kick and was met by the powerful head of Stuart Lascelles, who had a good game.
Järla managed to claw a goal back at the death, to end the scoring.
Långholmen travel to Stuvsta next week and will be hoping to put in a much better performance than today.
