It was a very successful weekend for Långholmen this weekend with a number of the teams involved in the club in action. The first team bounced back from recent bad results to trounce Bromstens by 5-1 at Stora Essinge. Unfortunately due to work commitments I was unable to cover this fixture. According to my sources we were never really threatened in this game and won easily enough despite not yet playing the great football we are capable of. The ladies team were beaten at Älta despite improving on the pitch. Our Korpen ladies team also went down, although they put in a great performance.
The reserve teams were also in action and both recorded fine victories. The reserve 1 team are looking like real candidates for the league title .
On Friday night there will be a real party atmosphere at Zinkensdamn when the first team go into a local derby against Lo Scudetto/Krukan FC. The game should attract a bumper crowd as Långholmens local pub is only a couple of hundred metres away from the ground. As the season goes on we are seeing new faces at the games and those people are coming back to games, this is fantastic and great for the players and fans alike. Come by and give the lads your support this week.
