Hi folks,
Throwing together a last minute Thanksgiving meal in Stockholm is still possible! Ingelsta is a turkey specialist with a shop in Ostermalm where you can find fresh turkeys for 90 Kr/kg. They also have the large cans of pumpkin (enough for 2 pies) for 100 Kr which is by far the best deal going. Lidl has small (3-4 kg) frozen swedish turkeys for 45 Kr/kg. Daglivs has fresh Ocean Spray cranberries for 35 Kr/bag in the produce section and canned cranberry sauce for 50 Kr in the foreign foods section upstairs. That is also where you can find unsweetened condensed milk in cans (for making pumpkin pie) for 22Kr/can. Also they have canned pumpkin but it's 89 Kr for a small can (1 pie). Sweet potatoes seem to be available in most grocery stores. American stye corn bread/muffins are super easy to make with polenta and flour. I can post the recipe here if anyone is interested. Happy thanksgiving everyone! |
