can any one tell me the chances of non EU doctors being accepted into the residency positions in sweden? what is the competetion like? is it possible for doctors who have done their post graduation in sweden to get a PR ? are there any nonEU doctors working presently in sweden that you know of or you heard of? any useful information would be appreciated and thanks in advance |

OK assuming that you have got to complete fluency and passed the necessary language and subject exams
QUOTE can any one tell me the chances of non EU doctors being accepted into the residency positions in sweden? what is the competetion like? It depends to a great extent where you move to and what your speciality it - major cities like Stockholm and university towns huge competition for jobs - rural areas less competition Some specialities are shortages so greater chance QUOTE is it possible for doctors who have done their post graduation in sweden to get a PR ? Yes QUOTE are there any nonEU doctors working presently in sweden that you know of or you heard of? yes The problems that most people come accross is passing the exams and then finding an approved work experience provider - for most people it takes 2-3 years before you can practice |

Just as a reference point, a friend of ours who was an anastetic nurse, trained in NZ, worked in UK was not qualified to practise here.
Sweden is full of qualified medical ex-professionals driving taxis. So, I very very much doubt you'd be accepted. Maybe it is different if you do something over here, then maybe it is not. Very sceptical though. PS! in that case it also took close to 3 years, but then she gave up. |
