Is there anyone in the Stockholm area still receiving BBC, !TV and the other British terrestrial channels or are they lost forever. Mine disappeared in February and no amount of searching has found a solution. Please let me know any links or advice you may have. Thanks

Mine were lost as well and I thought they were gone but they probably moved to Astra1N. I googled the frequencies during olympics, manually entered them and they are back again.
The first page I tried did not have the correct frequencies. |

Hi, in case you have an ipad or an iphone, you can have the british channels through applications from the apple app store. If you buy an "apple tv" (cost about £100), then you can view what's on your iphone/ipad screen on your tv through the apple tv. Works perfectly but you also need a proper internet connection. Hope it can help...

Me too, check out this forum: -
http://astra2.proboards.com The long and short of is that 150cm dish will get you reception but larger required for stable reception. A new satellite will probably go into operation, Astra 2F, which is the permanent replacement to 2D which went out of service in Feb, when we lost BBC etc... The chances are that 2F will be even tighter over the UK, but no-one knows for sure.. Keep an eye on that forum.. |

A 90cm Offset dish on the west coast around Uddevalla provides everything Sky has to transmit from Astra N, but heaven knows what we will get if, as and when the replacement is sent up. Will simply have to wait and see (pray).
As I see it, the new Astra F sat. will be launched on Sept 21, and the UK footprint appears to extend to about 100 metres outside the coastline!! The pan European footprint does reach to about Uddevalla, but I am unable to ascertain the size of dish required since the legend applicable is not visible. When the actual changeover will take place is not quoted, but the future does look bleak indeed. If it does become impossible to see anything on Sky, it will be the end of a long connection going back to the pre-digital days in the late 80's or early 90's, whenever it was, at least four Sky boxes and six viewing cards ago anyway. |

I am getting everything with a 1.2 in Jönköping, as you say we must wait and see what te future holds. Does not seem to be a very sensible thing for Sky to limit the reception area, there must be a lot of ex pat viewers all over Europe they would loose, and that a lot of wonga.

An update on the Astra 2F situation.
The Astra flight was delayed and apparently will now take place on 28th Sept. Transmission of broadband will commence on a date in November. Probably TV transmission will commence around the same time. As yet not much detail is available, but what is being said is that no-one should contemplate any new receiving material purchases until after that date, as there are various rumours about reception, but nothing concrete for the moment. Could well be that the Christmas TV screen will not give us very much UK entertainment, and we'll have to settle for Kalle Anka on SVT, or whatever it is they transmit. We can only hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. |

http://www.satandpcguy.com/Site/astra_2f_s...uk_tv_spain.php 90 to 100 should hopefully pick it up. i've just moved back to sweden and am about to sort this out, but think i'll be holding back until after it's gone up. |

When 1N went up last year dire warnings came that we would lose free view in Sweden, but It is as good as ever here with a 1.2 m dish so here is hoping

Just use the www.filmon.com site.
I pay about 100kr a months and have HD BBC1 etc which I then send to the tv with a cable. |
