Tax allowances to claim

Hi

I was just wondering which would be better to state on the tax declaration form. I travel a little over 90 miles per day to go to work. I know I can claim for travel allowance if I travel more than 8000km per year but do not know if I get the whole amount of cost back or a % or is it kronor per km over 8000 or what or for the whole lot? It costs around 150/180kr per day to travel depending on the cost of fuel that week. ( which seems to alter virtually every day!!). I have heard that I could as an alternative claim for living away from home instead but could not find out the allowances for that, if it is per day or week etc or if there is a time limit as to how long you could do it without having to move.

I have tried to suss out the difference between the allowances but it is difficult to know which to claim for.

I could stay overnight 3/4 days a week instead of travelling or even rent a place and go home at the weekends but do not know if it would be worth it or allowed. Is 45 miles from home far enough to qualify?

The info from the Skatteverket was very obscure and misleading. I was told I could claim for staying away from home but then told I do not live far enough away to qualify, even though I saw somewhere that it was if it were more than 40km, but don't know where I saw it now.

Does anyone else claim fuel allowance or for staying away from home that could tell me how it works properly?

My house is up for sale and I would love to move closer to work as it takes over an hour to get there daily in summer and will be worse once winter comes, but until it is sold I am having to fork out a fortune for fuel every week. I just wondered which way would be best to ease the pressure.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Here you have the info on living away from home: http://www.skatteverket.se/privat/svarpavanligafragor/avdrag
http://www.skatteverket.se/privat/skatter/...3.html#tillfarb

Note that you can only do this if you spend the night 50 km away from your residence, and in that case you could also claim costs for having an extra flat/hotel.

If you use you own car you can deduct 18.50kr per 10km + toll costs. However, you can only deduct costs that exceeds 10000kr per year, and there are some constraints, for example you must save two hours per day compared to bus/train, or you must use the car in your job:
