Hello
Just moved to Sweden for several months now, have my UT.. I'm wondering if I can sign up for a 24-month post-paid mobile phone plan if I'm not listed as employed and paying tax i.e. no credit history? |

In a word, no.
I found recently after attempting to get a new phone via tele2 that after working since the start of the tax year that they do not have a record yet even of my income at credit agencies yet, although if you did have an income (which you indicate you do not) you would be able to send information (contract & more) to prove it then depending on their decision they may let you have a phone. If you don't have a provable income then you are probably out of luck. As I couldn't be bothered to get the documents and my sambo was with me she signed up and I pay the bills |

Hey, thanks for your input.
Looks like I'm stuck with pre-paid for the next year or so, since I'm rather heavily pregnant, not in any condition to work anytime soon, and my Swedish husband who moved together with me to Sweden recently has only started working. Looks like he won't be accepted either. I really don't mind having a pre-paid phone, the only downside is when a need arises to call one of the Helpdesk... Like any Swedish Helpdesk lines, they can be impossible to get through and eat up all your credit! |
