My employer has given me an offer to move to Swedan. I need some extra info on how the total salary system work in Swedan.
I have a monthly salary offer, was wondering how much is the total yearly salary calculated? What the are the "typical" components that makes the yearly salary? If my offer is 70k SEK per month + bonus, whats my total yearly salary? What would be my take home per month? Thanks in advance. |

Hopefully your employer doesn't read TL. Might be having second thoughts.

You will pay around a minimum of 38% tax per month on the 70k per month.
Let's say Your bonus is paid annually, then it is subject to 1-time tax, that is a special table that uses your annual salary (12 x 70) = 840 Thou. which means the bonus would be taxed at 58% immediately (using skattesats för engångsbelopp). General rule in Sweden 'If it moves, tax it! ... if it doesn't move, tax it anyway, it might move' Will help You with the next post if you are looking to come to Stockholm: Cut and paste text -------------------cut and paste------------------- I am having trouble finding an apartment to rent in Stockholm, the system is crazy, looks like I have to join a queue 20 years ago! Can anyone explain how this works and where I can find an apartment to rent. ---------------------------------------------------- |

To be fair, there are places where you get, e.g., 13 "monthly" salary payments per year. Common in Germany for example.
But – as the answers show – unheard of in Sweden. |
