Hej,
Going to buy a car figured out that same cars cost less in Germany. For example Toyota Aygo. Here 123 300 SEK. In Germany 11 140 EUR ~ 93 000 SEK http://imgur.com/a/reytU Is it possible to bring a car and not to be double taxed with VAT? |

Prices differ for several reasons. Different tax and VAT rates, different markets (Toyota may have different prices to gain market share, etc), different equipment (Swedish cars always have the winter package with extra heating and heated seats).
If you buy a new car in the EU you have to pay Swedish VAT instead of German, 25% instead of 19%. |

The crown has strengthened a lot against the euro recently and I suspect that at least a part of the difference comes from the fact that the Swedish prices not yet have been adjusted to reflect that. So several effects contributing (as has been mentioned)
1) Higher VAT 2) Strong crown 3) Often more equipment as standard: better heating, warmed seats, sometimes better rust protection |
