Hey everyone!
I just moved to Stockholm from Canada I and trying to get all our necessary household items together. I'm all for adapting to the Swedish goods, but one thing I just can't wrap my head around are the dinky little canister vacuums they sell here. They don't seem very sturdy and I hate dragging something behind me like that! I'm looking for an upright, sturdy vacuum, bagless, preferably with attachments and a HEPA filter for my asthma like the Bissel one I left behind. Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced one? I appreciate your suggestions! |

Sorry, only North Americans think that those upright monsters are convenient. There are small cordless ones, but other than that I doubt that you can find one.
Just learn how to use a normal vacuum cleaner! |

We have a great one from Electrolux. Most electrical retailers should be able to get one for you.

Try British online shops. Seems that amazon.co.uk have some.

Homeshop.se has an inexpensive one. I have been using it since 2008 without any problems.
It has a hepa filter. It is small and does not hold much dirt. And it is not for rough use. |

In the UK there is a subscription magazine called "Which?" produced by the consumers association. it's an independent charity which tests a whole range of household products thoroughly and gives reviews and comparisons.
They consistently find that cylinder vacuum cleaners outperform upright vacuum cleaners. Just don't buy a cheap one and you'll find that it's actually not really cumbersome and that they work really well. |

Get a trilobite (Electrolux)... It is a life saver! Prevented a lot of sambo fights since we have gotten one...

I don't think those are made anymore.
But the iRobot Roomba models and the Neato are almost as good and have the advantage of not costing a fortune like Trilobite did. Looks like Neato have a model for people with allergy. |
