All said and done the fact is it's still an illegal substance.
There are many documentations about it's good properties and the lawmakers overlook them. Until laws are changed, users/sellers are still subject to a hard time from the Police. It's against the LAW! |

Lots of smug, nasty, judgemental people on here. So much for the myth that living abroad enlightens one.

... (show full quote)
In your limited opinion speaking the language is more important than smoking weed!? 'You're a very lucky, privileged child, fortunate enough to be travelling the world, expanding your horizons, seeing new places, soaking up culture in the old world and receiving a first class education, to boot.' You may have been excited and a little concerned! Why need he? How, in Christendom do you assume any of that? He has probably already researched what the weather is like. Pot is only illegal in Sweden. Now he is aware. I am sure he will be eternally grateful to you for putting him straight on that finest, of legal points. What do you mean by, 'The side effects of all that blazin?' Incidentally Blazin has a 'g' somewhere in the word! Did you not know, perhaps you never bothered to study at school, or was that a weak effort at being cynically cool. 'You have some way to go, dude! Chill!' The young man, who sensibly made enquiries about the availability of pot, in 'communist' Sweden, at least received a variety of views. Some of which may prevent him from adding to the tax burden, as a convicted criminal in jail. Sweden gets Nazi on anyone who it believes to be threatening to it's ultra-reserved and conservative life style. Law is...well.. Law! Drunk is drunk and stoned is stoned! You may think that pot smoking, for reasons of health, or otherwise, is unimportant. It obviously is to you, but to our Californian dude, he has a differing opinion, in fact he actually said nothing about learning the language, and it's relative importance to him, that is something you have assumed. His question was simply about the availability of weed. He said nothing about the ridiculous Swedish language. That was your twist! Maybe he suffers from stress like I do, or perhaps Glaucoma, which I don't. And probably you don't either! The law is just an opinion, legal or otherwise. Often made up from an elite group who have an ulterior motive (look it up in the dictionary buddy! http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ulterior_motive The young man concerned should not have to suffer his 'right' to do to himself, whatever he chooses. Legal or not. The politicians have removed that right from him. That makes a wrong! In your unkind prejudice you forget the culture of the state where this man resides. In California they posess a legal right to obtain cannabis under controlled conditions and for medical purposes. A law does not necessarily make a 'right'. But a stupid law does make a definite 'wrong'! You seem to know nothing of what you described. I suggest you go back to trying to speak Swedish and allow the young man at issue his freedom to ask simple questions to simple people, like you...and me. You have no regard for his and his culture, why should you expect him to have regard for you and 'yours'? Although there is no evidence that he showed any disrespect. 'Tow the line, be a good legal citizen, don't decide for yourself.' Actually you sound just like you ARE a Swede! In fact I bet you believe in Jantelagen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jante_Law Mind your own business! PS Hej Cannabis dude. If you find an affordable stash (unlikely)...please send me an email and lets hang. For medical purposes...or otherwise. I would like a smoke of Marjuana! PPS If you are here for a month or 10 forget about learning the language. I have been here for 8 years and if I was to say to a local, in Swedish, 'How are you?', the almost certain response is 'Vad?!' Forget it! Let them speak English, they will do it far better than you will ever speak Swedish! In fact they so often like an opportunity to show how well they can speak English, it's almost impossible to get in a word, edgeways. PPPS I 'suffer' from brain damage. No, bigoted dude! It's not connected in any way to smoking cannabis, but blunt trauma injury. But it always used to help manage the stress partly associated with it. Good luck in your quest and efforts to avoid the authorities! :-) If you come to stay in Umeå come and look me up...and don't forget your surfboard. Not there are any waves, here!! Have a blast. |

when you see something your sure is right with proof thats widely looked down on for false reasons, and everyone against it does not know a thing about it, you fight, you inform and you try and help the uneducated become educated. with proof.

Again, it's illegal and is judged so by people and politicians that think false reasoning is the truth.
When your thoughts and beliefs do not fit main stream reality you are an outsider to your society. The consequence of non-conformity is subject to popular law and it's meaning...again it's illegal. Change the law...but not here...we can't do it. |

Yadda, yadda, yadda...this argument has been so fulfilling to read. Such cynical ranting and raving, I roll my eyes. Like so many of the controversial subjects, this topic will forever be ongoing. I came here for one thing and one thing only. Anyone in the Jönköping County area that smoke? I just moved here and have been looking for some good herb or hash. Message me.
