We would like to rent a Barn somewhere in the Värmdo area.
It could be anything from 20 to 100 sqm, depends. It would have to be dry inside, as we would want to keep wood furniture there. Does anyone know how to find Barns or other vacant buildings in that area for that purpose? Many thanks for any ideas. Sabine |

I do not know the area. Just as a word of caution. If the furniture is valuable as in antiques and it is going to be stored for a long time then you need more than just a dry environment but climate controlled as wood worms and dampness will damage the items. If you are in the area it can not be so hard to find unlike remotely. good luck.

You need to go and ask a few local farmers. There's no 'barns to let' website or anything. But you have to beat the caravan owners there, as most barns contain them over the winter.
After mouse damage, I should think the biggest threat to anything left in a barn are ppp... erm, people driving english or irish registered 4x4's towing caravans, usually knocking on doors to ask if there's anything that needs doing cheap, while at the same time checking out anything that isn't firmly fixed to an immoveable object, preferably the ground. |

You could talk to local farmers - but most barns will not exactly be a great place to store furniture given that they are a winter home to mice, rats and stray cats etc
Have you thought of renting a proper storage unit - this company has several in the Stockholm area - but there are probably others you could rent http://www.shurgard.se/magasinering-i-sver...Stockholm/Nacka |
