MUSIC :: GURU (From Gangstarr fame)

Is currently in a coma after a heart attack.

Not sure if anyone out there is into this, but if they are I just read that he is in hospital in NY after a heart attack and now in a coma (he is only 43 years old). Kinda hits home when some of the peers you grew up with have such health issues at such a young age (he was never exactly fat) and shows how life can have its twists and turns.

I have followed Gang Starr and Guru from the days of "No More Mr. Nice Guy" right up until "The Ownerz" I had the pleasure of seeing him live at The Jazz Cafe in Camden London in the 90's, he played the Jazz Festival in Umeå 2008/9 and I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to him, being able to have related to his upbringing, a man that paved the way for myself and many of my friends where I grew up, through his lyrics.

He is a modern day poet and I have tons of respect for him, I do hope he pulls through.

MC Solar (from the first jazzmatazz album and producer of later albums) put together a group to tour under that name to apparently "honor" GURU.

Small odd fact.
