Has anyone had a babyshower in Sweden, Gothenburg specifically? I would like to have one. And I and would like to register on a baby website that ships locally in Sweden, that my family and friends can access and understand. Has anyone found a locally run website (with the ability to register) that offers an English option?
please help! |

Baby showers are not usual in Sweden, where people in general, don't go around asking everybody to buy them expensive gifts just because they are having a child....

Well that's obvious given the lack of resources available. My question was not regarding the cultural norm and/or asking people to buy us expansive gifts...
I was just wondering if there was a known website (in Sweden so as not to pay international shipping fees) that my family and friends (outside of Sweden) could access to buy us gifts (Preferably expansive |

Hello!
You may wanna try something like amazon.co.uk as i havent heard of such websites and have been in already 3 Swedish baby showers. Amazon.co.uk doesnt seem to have expensive shipping costs. Baby showers are becoming increasingly popular in Sweden. However they are not so big in terms of gifts, its mostly a gathering and people bring in food and some small presents to enjoy a bit of a extended fika together. Enjoy and congrats! |

Thank you. I've looked at Amazon.co.uk and if nothing else, will probably go with that.
Thanks! |

Found this for all you mothers to be that want to have a babyshower..
http://www.barnparadiset.se make a wish list in your personal account. You'll need to give your friends your account information so that they can access your wish list. Its partly in English and Swedish... but I think people should be able to understand...! The great thing is that it's local and I don't think people will have to pay international shipping! |

Thanks for the link! But I cringe at those Swedish prices. It's much, much cheaper on Amazon UK and shipping's free to Sweden with a £25 purchase!

...This is beginning to sound more and more like someone from that company, concocting a thread in order to advertise their website...hmm. |

highly likely, it's like oh I really really need something, oh I'll join a forum, then magically within 24hrs I've found the perfect solution to my problem and post a link telling everyone something I've only known about a few hours how great it is?
Maverick, I presume you have bought several items from this story already, compared prices across europe, favourable postage? Good customer service? still value for money? Besides, it's just marketing poo, it's like another mothers, fathers, names, valentines day etc.. another excuse for places to blagg cash off folk through guilt, rather than real desire or necessity. |

So interesting the conspiracy theory’s going on here...! Just for your info... I neither work for the website nor do I have any interest in marketing for them... I was just curious about known websites...for family and friends to use. Wow!

Wow! yeah yeah, you just happened to join, ask a question and then find the answer yourself, all in 24hrs, purely by chance. Just be grown up and admit it? You should have waited 2 or 3 days before putting up the link, better luck on your advert trolling on other sites. 2/10 for your effort here. |

What is it with people advertising their crappy websites on here lately, anyway? If it's not overpriced baby tat that could be got for half the price from Amazon, it's adverts for websites which sell earrings that even Pat Butcher would turn her nose up at...
I thought it was a discussion forum, not a free advertising board... |

I have to assume that both of you have nothing better to do that think of crazy conspiracy theories and post them on this forum. I must say though, you are providing me with some good laughs. But I am starting to find this forum to be a venting ground rather than an information sharing place...It's sad your first response is to be negative rather than kind and helpful...
