I know of an outdoor court downtown, a couple of blocks from Hotorget subway station, but the couple of times I passed by there I didn't see anyone. Apart from that, some Swedish dude told me that the best place for pick-up games in Stockholm is a place called "Fryshuset" and that you get there by taking the subway to "Gullmarspdan". I haven't checked this out yet, so hopefully it will be good. If you want we could meet up and go there together. I am a big basketball fan and I've moved here recently, probably for a long time, so it'd be nice to meet some people to play with now and then. I am pretty good too, though I haven't played in a while.

There is one shared with a small skate street section in hummlegarden in central Stockholm near stureplan. The other one I know of is a school on skeppargatan , and thirdly there is one in soder behind the old tax office.

Your best bet if you are looking for teams to play with would be to contact fryshuset ... They have a much larger team / group.

Hi incadescent/Originn,
been out of SWE on a few business trips, so couldn't catch up earlier. Have you guys found and started playing anywhere? I just saw a few posts on the Noticeboard also with people looking to play basketball; seems there's a potential to meet up and play soon. Leave me a message and lets take it from there ... Let me know and take care. YH |

Hi guys i'm searching someone to play basketball as well!
I've been to Stockholm many times (now i'm resident) and saw the courts that you're talking about...always empty!!! On courts of the world website there are 4 courts plus the one in Hummlegarden that is not reported. So if you want to play sometimes, let me know... |

There's quite a few courts but they always seem to be in isolated areas or only known to a few. I played at KTH with a few Chinese friends back in 08. Oh there's a court in Kista that is always pretty dead. Shame, I wish I would have found a few to definitely play with when I was back in Sweden

Hi guys, I've found this place at Gubbängsskolan very near the Tunnelbana stop of Gubbängen (green line to Farst Strand) where every sundays people play basketball.
This is the website, link . First time it's free entrance, then if you decide to continue with it you must pay 500,00kr and you can get there to play 10 times, whenever you want. I went yesterday and it was cool, there's a coach as well so you can play and do some practice to be in good shape. So, I wanted to tell you about this because it's very difficult to find someone to play with in Stockholm...actually it's difficult to play basketball at all in this city! By the way, hope to see you there and have some fun!!! |
