Hi, I moved from the UK recently to Uppsala and would like to get out fishing - I fly fish for rainbow trout back home.
I have a few questions though... 1) can anyone recommend any good tackle shops in the Uppsala area that won't be looking to screw me over as a "naive foreigner"? i.e. try and sell me loads of expensive kit I don't need - I'm not an "all the gear, no idea" kind of guy... 2) can anyone recommend some good fly fishing spots or even good lakes with boat hire in the area? 3) Is there any permit/licence laws I should be aware of such as: seasonal rules, needing a rod licence, or rules about killing & keeping what I catch? Thanks, Rob Also if there is anyone that would let me tag along on a trip then let me know! |

Hey Rob - have you had any luck? I am moving to Uppsala in 3 weeks and packing my fly fishing gear - I have heard good things about the north but did you find anything around the city?

I hope other readers join in with fishing advice in Sweden.
I'd like to do some next time I visit. I fish for walleyes in the US and Canada so zander would seem a good choice for me. |

I've been to Fyrväpplingen which is not too far from Uppsala,
http://www.fyrvapplingen.nu Dont know about tackle stores in Upsalla but I got some stuff at Hi-Sport in Rotebro. Theres a closer one at Arlanda. They were quite reasonable with their prices. http://www.hi-sport.se |
