New development Community

Is there any in Sweden?

Hello, I wonder if it is popular to find new development villa communities in Sweden.

I will explain my self - I know that in US and Australia it is very popular for a real estate company to build a whole new villa neighborhood, with school, shopping center, etc.
Someone know about such communities in Sweden?

No and Yes, a property developer usually develops land, say farmland is turned in to a suburban neighborhood or co-op housing complexes and malls, but schools, infrastructure and such is usually built and financed by the municipality. The project is usually not sold exactly in the same way - at least in my impression - as in the link you provided, and, when detached housing is built it's usually on a smaller scale and adjacent to already existing communities.
The county and municipality has a rather big influence on what gets built by zoning laws and via the planing process. However if you build outside of zoned areas, nature reserves and so forth you can pretty much build whatever you want, the problem is that then you're building pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
So yes to a certain degree there is similar projects but with stricter regulations and more interference from local authorities and usually on a smaller scale, new suburban "towns" are rare though.

Just one more thing, were do you thing will be more activity of this kind of development -
at the big cities (stockholm,gothenburg,malmo)? or in the smaller cities (uppsala, orebro, etc) ?

Hard to say. Near the city such development would be prohibitively expensive and planing permission would be difficult to obtain, there are some rather large projects that are in development in the Stockholm municipality but they focus on co-ops, rentals and commercial space and most are initiated by the municipality. The more popular place for building villas/single family dwellings on a commercial basis are usually in municipalities bordering to or near a larger city, places like - in the Stockholm area - Täby or Sigtuna. But residential projects are rather common in smaller city's as well, a business case can be made both near Stockholm and in smaller city's, the key component is obtaining land with planing/zoning permission in an attractive location and at a reasonable price, so where the action is probably depends on where new infrastructure are being built and on where the municipalities are rezoning. I would assume that there's more building going on in areas surrounding the bigger cities as the demand is larger.
I'm sorry that I can't be more precise, the people I know that are in planing on a municipality level and in building commercial buildings, so my grasp of the details regarding single family housing is sketchy.

Might I inquire why you're so interested in housing in Sweden?
