hello there, was wondering what the rules are concerning temporary residence applications for Sweden. would my partner be allowed to remain in Sweden whilst an application is being processed ? also can such applications be made whilst here in Sweden on a three month visitors visa ? all information would be appreciated.

(Generic answer to Q1: Yes): Typically, if one is allowed to apply for residence permit from within Sweden, then he/she can remain in Sweden until the application is processed.

(Generic answer to Q2: No): But, normally if someone is here with 3 months tourist visa, he/she will be asked to go to home country and apply from there. There can be exceptions though, like if there is a child involved (or pregnant) or some other exceptional/humanitarian reasons.
