I think that was one of the best "last nights" I have seen for a long tine.
The volinist Nicola Benedetti was brilliant and I thought the Maltese tenor was excellent also.
I loved it when some of our Olympic gold medalists came in and sang along.
Interesting story concerning the violin Nicola was playing, its a Stadavarius, priceless and owned by a banker (there's a surprise) and he lets her play it on the understanding she plays for him a few times a year, I must admit even to my untrained ear it was a beautiful sound but of course Nicola Benedetti is a master of the violin.
