(edit title) Are White Males Becoming Increasingly Violent? Sure Seems Multi-Culturalism Is Making It So Options

After the Bird rampage, the Breivik massacre, and the Holmes copy-cat shootings, and what was building up before, sure seems that the developed world is reaching a tipping point where white, well-taken-care of males are becoming so paranoid about advances that women and other races are making that they are turning to mass murder. In the process, they get all the publicity that they have always wanted.

What Holmes did in Colorado is much more than taking advantage of a new Batman movie and lax laws about purchasing weapons - i.e., copying what Anders Breivk did under the changed circumstances. Instead of acting like a policeman when none were in sight in Breivik's case, Holmes took advantage of the cover the film provided to kill as many people as he could - like what Breivik did.

Who will be the next mass murderer, and where will it occur?

I don't think anyone would be able to name "who will be the next " But it is more than likely be in USA, unless the media get a whiff of a story from Africa or some obscure country.

Amazing that they seem to mainly occur in the states, or perhaps that is because the media report the events so freely.

It does seem like these incidents are becoming more prevalent. I do think many of these nutjobs desire the media exposure. Perhaps if the combined media would agree to announce that an un-named mentally unbalanced person committed such and such crime, pulic hanging to commence at noon, then we would have less of these events.

Of course the news hypes up these senseless events, that's how they sell newspapers. And if some other whacko is inspired to become a copycat, well that's just more news to print and more papers sold.

It has a political aspect as well...the anti-gun lobby gets a lot of attention when these things occur.

Naturally they use it to erode the constitutional rights of law abiding citizens...like me!

Just read about the hunting rampage that Nathan Wilkins went on early Tuesday morning, wounding 18 blacks while at the Copper Bar in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Only found it on the Daily Mail.

Wilkins had posted on Facebook, glorying the racial killings while waving the Confederate flag. It was taken down, but the Mail, of course, kept it going, posting several photos of the gunman and his victims.

Yes, the next mass murder reported will likely be reported in the USA as the common place mass murders and masacres throughout the world are not reported unless they are picked up by the Western media outlets. -Paul

Interesting topic. I was wondering about this stereotype of white male violence as well. I can't help wondering though if it's related to a kind of disconnect in the modern (especially suburban) world. I recently came across the term "new tribalism" but haven't explored the concept in full. I think the idea though recognizes a kind of disconnect and loss of tribe. Also makes me think of a short Joseph Campbell interview (on youtube perhaps), and I believe he said something about our time needing a new myth - that a culture's myths are a kind of blueprint for how to live, and that modern society hadn't updated the blueprint, so to speak.

Maybe some people are trying to hang on to the crapola suburban myth, and when life falls apart, they snap because there's no greater thing/truth (be it spirituality or nature or community, etc.) to fall back on and gain strength from. Maybe people like Breivik and Holmes created their own myths and/or built upon existing myths, inserting themselves in an avenging role. Maybe it's related to an excessive loss of power and feeling like they have little-to-no control in directing their own lives? I don't know. Asperger syndrome, or whatever extreme lack of empathy, in there as well? It all seems very surreal.
