Perhaps there is some irritation at the university on this subject, after all the nonsense from someone called Fjordman on the internet, and Storm Froont (re-spelled because it apparently was a banned word!!!), who have managed to sneak their Islamophobic rubbish into international media. It's been discussed here, there seems to be both an actual rise in rape, but also a technical rise, after sexual abuse figures became included in the rape stats. I still have this link from my last debate, that compared UK rape to Sweden, and I remember that Sweden had lower per capita figures, but it's the only one I still have unfortunately: http://www.truthaboutrape.co.uk/index2.html Sorry, thats all I have, apart from the link to the governmental statistical bureau: http://www.scb.se/default____2154.asp . |

My wife did exactly the same study for her MSc. I'll sell you her dissertation for a grand.
Not really, I'l point this post out to her though. Where are you by the way? The topic may be best avoided if at UCLan. |

Im studying in Wales.
I had a quick look at the web links THANKS! they are looking very promising so far. I am really looking for reports, notes, etc based on a history of rape (legislation), how victim support attributes to all this (I am in contact with them) and more importantly future reform on rape legislation, developments etc. Thanks for all your help! |

As you are looking for information in English you are a bit limited.
There is a portal for violence against women which may be useful: http://www.kvinnofrid.se/ Or you could could do a search on Socialstyrelsens website (the national agency for Health and social services) and the publish some of their reports in English. http://www.sos.se/sosmenye.htm |
