Could be that they don't fly in that area so very often. I don't expect that they fly so far from their bases, and Såtenäs is more west than east and the coastline is not many minutes away at the rate they travel. Could also be that Stockholmers complain if they fly over their city too often. The aircraft are often here on the west coast, however,
At least the Swedish aircraft make far less noise the the US F15's and 16's that flew from my local base in the UK. When they were around TVs blinked, and you could hardly hear yourself speak. Happily for my friends back home the US no longer run the airbase, and all is quiet nopwadays, after years of 24/7 disturbance. |

Many cities have restrictions for noisy aircraft, especially low flying military ones. But also some have bans on single engined aircraft flying over them. I know London has such a restriction. Noise, during my first years of military life I lived about 400m from the end of the runway, in a room with single glazing, listening to jets winding up ready to take off.

We have had a lot more low level flights over us from the SAAB airfield in the past week. We are only 8km from the airfield. An old colleague of mine at SAAB told me that a number of mods to the JAS 39 are being tested involving low level flights.
