Fawkes never attained the word "Great" in his life or afterwards...this guy did!
He revolutionized warfare and his gunpowder went off with a bang! Gustavus Adolphus Day Gustavus Adolphus Day is celebrated in Sweden, Estonia and Finland each year on 6 November. On this day only, a special pastry with a chocolate or marzipan medallion of the king, is sold. The day is also an official flag day in the Swedish calendar. In Finland, the day is celebrated as svenska dagen or ruotsalaisuuden päivä, "Swedishness Day", and is a customary flag day. In Estonia, the day is known as Gustav Adolfi päev. In all three countries, 6 November is the name day for Gustav Adolf, one of the few exceptional name days in the year. |

Indeed one of the finest cakes of the year, if not the best.
Just a shame that after Mid-summer, there are no National holidays in Sweden until Christmas. Next week in many countries but the tight fisted Swede s have theirs on a Saturday, every year. But back to the cake, yum yum, Better than Semlor. |

Good! GH now as a Swedish citizen I have a reason to celebrate on Nov. 6th regardless of what happens in the USA that day.
I now look forward to the 6th of November for Swedish reasons. -Paul |
