When I was first coming to Sweden those adverts for Timotei in the cinema with the beautilful blond girl with the flowing long hair were synonymous with all things Swedish.
Seeing them in the UK made me think of Sweden and I eventually emigrated here in 88 and starting using Timotei. It came to the Kent in the UK around this time. It vanished from the shelves in Sweden around 20 years ago. But it is still readily available all over the world. What happened? Only thing I can think of is it was banned in Sweden for being tested on animals, but I have no idea if it was or not. Just strange that one of the most popular brands of Shampoo ever can no longer be found in Sweden. |

There is the possibility of...shall I say...conspiracy...could it be brunette related?
And then there is the other thread where a person is having great difficulty finding shampoo with aloe vera! Something is afoot, methinks! |

I used it in the days when I still had some hair
The brand is owned by Unilever. You could try contacting them to ask why it is no longer sold here. |

A funny letter might result in a free sample or voucher. Something along the lines of how you hair has not been the same since you stopped 20 years ago and seems to be much thinner too. You never know and you'll get the answer to your question too.

could be Sweden, in the days of old they made drinks/cordial out of the flowers it looks like she's collecting. She doesn't look the kitchen maid type though!
So Mild, ie not as acidic as the stuff people normally use! Scary stuff shampoo, no wonder your eyes sting. |

Isn't "Timotej" actually a weed that grows i ditches in Sweden - Timothy grass that many people are highly allergic to?
![]() Perhaps they decided that it was just not a great marketing ploy in Sweden to convince people to buy "highly allergenic ditch weed" shampoo - even if the girl was pretty You can still get it in the UK though - I brought some Vanilla Timotei back from the UK recently ![]() .... at least Sweden still has the pop-group!!! |
