Hi there,
I got a fine ticket for parking at a private place last week. Haven't paid it yet due to Easter holiday. How long is required to pay for it. What will happen if not paying within the required date? Thanks! |

No worries ... since these things can blow off the windscreen etc... You can wait until they send You a reminder (that You must pay on time though
It can happen that if they make simple mistakes, they cancel the ticket. In theory before sending a reminder they have to check the reg nr. against the model of car. If they do not match what the ticket says they do not send a reminder. Wait for the reminder. |

Yes, I always throw the ticket away. It's their job then to send me one in the post.
I often drive around in Sweden with foreign plates, and those parking tickets never show up in the post! |

Bad advice as you normally get a 50% reduction by paying quickly. By the time a reminder comes in the post it will be to late. Read the small print on the ticket for the dates when it has to be paid and do it ASAP |

When I've gotten a ticket on a Swedish car, the ticket that arrives in the post is always the same price as the first one on the windscreen.
If you ignore the first ticket in the post, then the second ticket in the post has a higher price. That's true. But that's only the second ticket in the post. My Swedish colleague told me that because the ticket on the windscreen can blow away, get rained on and become illegible, etc., that they are legally required to send you a reminder in the post with the same price. My colleague's advice was to ignore the ticket on the windscreen, as sometimes (very rarely, never happened to me) they can make a mess of sending the ticket in the post and you end up never getting it. |
