Today its PANCAKE DAY!

Ladies and Gents, Boys and Girls.
Today is Shrove Tuesday ... or more commonly known as PANCAKE DAY!

So get your batter mixes stirring.
And post up your families favorites toppings.

Our house Top 3 has to be :

Lemon and Sugar (Classic)
Sugar and Cinnamon (German classic)
Grand Marnier

Many years ago, I remember M&S used to make a Pancake with Orange and something ... anyone remember this?

butter topped with dark brown sugar ( the Belgian one if possible ) on warm pancake so the sugar melts with the butter, its gorgeous and thats the Belgian way...jam is nice too, Nutella is excellent, maple syrup is yum too wink.gif or with some banana and vanilla ice cream and some melted chocolate...well lets be honest, it can go on and on and on because pancakes go with so many things...

Just had 2 pancakes with butter and Belgian brown sugar, it was yum yum lol

mmmmmmmm semla

Although I was served a horrible version of a "healthy" semla when I was in hospital one Shrove Tuesday when the whole ward got excited about getting a fluffy cream bun - however the reality was somewhat different
- instead of a large fluffy bun it was a small dough ball
- no almond filling but instead sweet apple sauce
- no whipped cream ohmy.gif but instead warm milk was poured over the bun making it soggy
