Hi I would like to ask if anyone can recommend book keeping / accounting software for Windows for someone running a sole trader / F Skatt company in Sweden, with english language interface if possible.
Also can anyone recommend an invoicing service, or even run through the pros and cons of such a service. |

Hi, try http://www.speedledger.se. I think they let you try it for free for a month after which it costs 250kr a month. Another good thing is that it connects directly to your internet bank.

thanks for the answers - if anyone knows of a package / service that supports both Swedish and English that would really help my friend. If you have personal experience of the software would be really kind to describe it´s strengths and weaknesses - also what the support service is like.
thanks in advance |

+1 on Speedledger, that's what I use and it is far easier to use than any other accounts package I have used in the past.
I use it in Swedish even though my Swedish isn't great and if I run into trouble my accountant has access to my accounts as well and can make changes/corrections as needs be. I am aware that they are preparing to launch in the UK as they spoke to me about doing a promo video so It wouldn't harm to ask them if he can have the interface in English. |

I use speedledger. Its easy to use, in swedish only but if you are used to accounting software its not a problem. The help line people I have spoken to are good and they all have good English. There is a trial version on the website. The advantage of that is that if you are using it and you are not sure of something you can go to the trial version and play without messing up your own. Its also in the cloud so no backups and use it anywhere on any computer.

any idea about monthly cost ? For an Enskild firma I pay 125kr/month + 12%moms for Speedledger. You don't have any software on you pc, it's all in the cloud and you log in via a normal web browser, so you can get Google chrome to translate it although its not always great with some of the drop down menus. I'd imagine they must have an English language manual prepared by now so with that and Google he should have no problems. You just have to install a virtual printer on your pc and then by printing the contents of your bank account it transfers all records to Speedledger. It's then just a case of going down through the list and assigning each record to the correct cost centre. If like me all his company transactions are done via his bank account then it is very straight forward to do Moms returns and keep the accounts in order. Speedledger have a list of accountants who are trained in using their system and you give your accountant access to your accounts. For the first few returns I had my accountant check I had everything in order before filing my return. Also as the accountants have very little work to do to audit the accounts for the end of year returns I found their fees pretty reasonable. For the first 18 months I was in business, I paid about 5,000kr in total to the accountant. |

Visma sounds really good. Does anyone know how much it costs (it's not on their website), or how to download it (also not on their website). I certainly dont need a cloud based solution, I expect you will pay a subscription for cloud based.

I've been running my own companies since the late 1990s and I would have to concur with what everyone else here is saying: Speedledger is by far the best choice available. It's a product that doesn't, as far as I know, exist in the UK.
If it did, banks would do a killing with it. But they are of course too dumb to understand that. So, check it out. And yes it is unfortunately only in Swedish. Unless there is some magic switch to change language, but I doubt it. I'd email them and ask if I were you. One major difference between the UK and Sweden (which you probably don't know know about) is that there are standardised account plans. That makes it fairly easy because you can get a lot of free accountancy help on the net which because of the standardised account plans will be exactly what you will find in almost any accountancy package you pick out there. |

I don't know what the launch date is but Speedledger are preparing to launch in the UK and Germany. I know this as they sent out an email a few months ago looking for native English and German speaking users to do promotional videos for them, so I'd imagine the launch is not far away, although if you look at speedledger.co.uk it presently just redirects to the Swedish site. |
