New to wordpress website design

Anyone can help me?

Hi Locallers,

I am trying hard to learn this website design tingi....using wordpress. I am a total newbie!

Anyone can help me? It can be through skype or phone call. I want practical guideline..

Do I purchase a url or hosting bla bla before I can download wordpress? Where do I start?

I have done that but it is taking me no where.....that it why I need 'practical' guidance.

Hi,
Well, you don't need to learn web design in order to run a blog on WP. You need actually three things: 1) hosting (actual computer, accessible from the web, where you website resides), 2) domain name (yourname.foo.bar.com), and 3) your website (your codes, html, php files, db, whatever).

1. If you are asking about the entry point, all you need to do is to subscribe to free hosting. I suggest you start with free hosting to clearly understand what you can get with paid one. Try http://www.biz.nf/
2. With free hosting you usually get free domain name. It will be long and ugly, but you can always buy google.com or something similar.
3. Some hostings can come with website builders which you can use. If there is no such wizards, go to wordpress.org and follow instructions.
