Hey,

i have been here for almost one year, from australia. my 1yr working holiday visa is up in one week. i have employment and definitely wish to stay for a long period. i know i can apply for my working visa to be extending if i get a proof of employment or offer from my boss. i have informed him of this and he says he will write some kind of letter. but he is taking his sweet time to put it bluntly.

i am informed by my employer and many others, that 'ahhh no it will be fine, you are working so what can they do if you put an application in past the date, its no problem dont stress'...
but i must say i am stressing. i dont want to get a fine or bank acc frozen, tax return disabled etc etc and at worst deported.
i have phoned and emailed the migration office to let them know of my situation, to no avail.

so i really hope some people have been in this situation or know the details i require, or maybe you have applied after the visa expiration date also and know the consequences...?

Find the offer of employment form at migrationsverket.se. Go to your boss to fill it. Ask to him who is the union representative at the company - go to that person to fill the second part (union opinion) of the from. If lucky, this can be done much faster than waiting the boss to write up some letter. I don't know if your working holiday visa complicates anything.

okay i will jump on the migration website and look further. hoping things can resolved with no drama's considering how close the visa expiry date is.
