I am planning to move to Sweden in the summer and am contemplating bringing my 4 year old Vespa (200cc) with me. The shipping costs are quite minimal and therefore would appreciate some tips on the following:
1- Steps required to register, pay road tax and anything else to certify road-worthiness 2- Converting a non-EU motorbike licence to a Swedish one 3- Anything else? Many thanks for your tips & suggestions. |

1- Steps required to register, pay road tax and anything else to certify road-worthiness
Contact Transportstyrelsen for info on how to do this. Very straightforward process. They test the bike for road worthiness, check the chassis (VIN) number and issue you with the vehicle registration. The plate comes by post 2-3 days thereafter. http://www.transportstyrelsen.se/en/road/I...tion-of-origin/ 2- Converting a non-EU motorbike licence to a Swedish one You have to do the full test. 3- Anything else? Insurance is also required. The bike can be insured without Swedish plates. |
