Hi to all!
I hope someone could give me hints regarding health insurance in sweden. I am looking for an insurance company so i can do a medical and health insurance. I went to Förenads Livs and got some info, but for example, they don't cover medical expenses if one requires them abroad. So, in order to compare, i would like to know if someone could point me out some other insurance companies, so that i can then decide. Any other hints are welcome Thanks |

what sort of health insurance do you need?
- are you already covered in Sweden through you residence permit? - do you have a home insurance policy that covers some things? |

Hi!
Yes, I have a permanent residence permit already! I don't have a home insurance as I don't really have a home of my own yet. I am essentially looking for insurance companies so I can compare their services. of course I am interested in all what they offer, dental, surgery, etc..but also that they can cover part of expenses if something happens while I am abroad. |

Under Sweden's healthcare provision you have the right to see a any public or private doctor or dentist that is affiliated to the Swedish scheme for the same amount as to visit the public doctor-
However if you want private insurance to see any doctor then this a considerable cost - you could looks at companies such as Trygghansa and Länsförsäkring - remember though that prior conditions are not covered Outside of Sweden - your residence permit covers you in the EU and coutries with a reciprocal healthcare arrangement with Sweden with your EU health card that you order for Försökringskassan - otherwise you will need a travel insurance policy with healthcare coverage Even if you don't have your own home many people insure the contents of their home against fire/theft etc - these policies often include travel insurance and some include medical evacuation back to Sweden if you have a major accident |
