So, i get swedish citizenship soon. I dont want my daughter to waste time in college.
My friends who got government desk jobs say government sector has job reservations for people from middle east/africa. So i ask where the best job reservations in the government sector for salary and career? Police and army jobs out of the question. Desk jobs preffered. Thanks. |

The Swedish courts have held positive discrimination to be illegal so there are no jobs reserved - although some jobs *are* reserved for Swedish citizens if they involve national security
In government administration for example it is only the most lowly jobs that are done by non graduates - most staff have completed Bachelor degrees in subjects like political science, Law, and economics etc |

Surely your daughter has a mind of her own and can decide her own career plans?

Tax agency and immigration are good places for sure. It's not official policy but they do give preference at interviews for middle east/african people, even for promotions so that they have more diversity. A high school degree is usually sufficent for them. Not sure how it is at other governemt agencies.

Just of of curiosity: @OP: Your name sounds like an Indian name. Is that the case? If yes, then don't start about that bloody reservation crap here in Sweden. Sweden is better off without any kind of reservation in any job! @Others: the OP will get my point if he/she is an Indian. |

Let her decide, it is the BEST thing ANY parent can do. YOU can then support their decision like any other mature adult or parent should. |
