Hi, I'm Azuan and I'm from Malaysia. My wife will pursue her PhD at Lund University for 4 years. We'll be leaving somewhere middle of June 2012. I would love to know how's Lund generally ...
1. is it a good place to raise children? I have son of 9 years and a daughter of 6 years. 2. Is there any public school for my kids - both not so fluent in english. 3. How's the public transport there, is it better to buy a car ? 4. I'm a certified 'Senaman Tua' instructor (a traditional exercise base on local Malay martial art) and also a Malay Traditional masseur - Is there any possibility for me to practice here in Lund? Really need some feedback from you guys.. |

hi welcome to sweden
1-Sweden also Lund, is a great place to raise kids. You will see it in first days of your arrival 2-there are public schools in swedish. Exceptionally in some cities you can also find public English schools for foreigners. You need to search for it. 3-Car parkings are more costly than car itself. Public transportation is well maintained and ontime. I am sure you will like it. 4´- welcome to the unemployed/underemployed club of expats. |

Hi and welcome in Lund!
I know the topic is a bit old, but I come back to it Lund is a great place to live and raise children: it's safe and has a lot of playgrounds, parks and green spaces, as you might have seen by now I'd be very interested about your findings on martial arts here, especially on the Malaysian side! I've done some Pencat Silat (Silat Gayong to be precise) some years ago, and I'd like to do that again, but I was not able to find something. Anyway, I hope you find your way for everything in Lund |
