Howdy,
I have received very good expert advise from fellow Localers in the past. It is a shame that few people use the vast knowledge that exists here more often... Nonetheless, I could do with some specialist advise from people more knowledgeable than I; I just got bundled into trying to save a Project that has been badly managed by another group. In brief, one of our plants has a dire need to track the equipment it produces on the production floor via both RFID and QR codes. The processes have been established but they have ignored the problem of integrating the RFID receivers and QR scanners into a database that they want to use to store and track the data. The db is standard SQL Server and all required fields are in place but some small development work is required. My question is, Is there standard 'integration' packages one can purchase to act as interface between the scanners/readers and the database? We do use MS BizTalk for other applications and my expectation is that this may be a viable solution.. but I am still missing the integration from the hardware to the db... I am not up to speed on such IT matters but have literally 2 weeks to make a proposal for how to close the project gaps. This is just one of several Many thanks in advance! J:S: |

How about the BizTalk RFID application? That should give you the required layer.

Cheers! I will look into it but as I understand this is not a standard plug-in but rather a complete application service meaning additional server and license costs..?
I was hoping to find a bog standard integration package that would then communicate directly with BT. Thanks for the help!! |

Have a look at this for a better example: http://www.rfcode.com/Products/Software/RF...zTalk-RFID.html

No worries, I didn't think you were lazy at all.
Most of us have been in your position. A couple of years ago I was asked to make a small "adjustment" to an in-house VB app that created batches of PDF's. Long story short, it was written in Visual FoxPro and used used undocumented 3rd party controls... That was fun ;-) |
