Hi there,

Nothing's set in stone, but I'm looking to do a year, or maybe a half of year in school in Stockholm, or in that general area. My Swedish is basic, I've started taking it on just for fun, so I'd still need an international school, or at least one that offers English courses? I've never done a year away. I'm in high school, and I'd most likely do my eleventh grade year there. There's a possibility my aunt would come and she'd rent an apartment, since she doesn't work (retired early) and loves Sweden to death. But otherwise, I'd be doing some type of home-stay I think. I'm originally from Canada. We've been doing research and rent in Stockholm is about 22% cheaper than it is in Vancouver (British Columbia). Not surprising. We looked around and were blown away by how much cheaper it seemed.

I just thought I'd come and see if you had any tips for me. Nothing's set in stone, like I said, I'm just looking around for more information. I've never been to Sweden before but I'm in love with Stockholm, from what I've seen.

We've also looked at France since I'm fluent in French, my friend just returned from a year in Paris studying abroad and she absolutely loved it. But honestly Paris/France doesn't really have a great effect on me.. I've never been of course, but eh.

Any information (just about living in Stockholm, schooling etc) would be greatly appreciated. Tack så mycket!

Oh, also... This is a random question, but I have an anxiety disorder and I require antidepressants to maintain them. The distance away from my family would not bother me, in all honesty it would settle me. But anyway, what would I do about my medication? I've gotten as much as 3 months worth at a time, but if I were there for say 6 or 10 months, would I have to specify to my doctor that I'll be away for a long period of time?

My tip would be to contact someone who has been on an exchange year and ask. Or you could search youtube for clips of people who uploaded some vlogs about their exchange in Sweden/Stockholm;
