Hi
I'll be staying in Stockholm for the next 6 months and I would really need a local phone number with 3g. I asked Telenor and they suggested a deal with 15eur monthly payment (that includes some call time and internet). I suppose there are better deals out there? Maybe something that doesn't require a contract. I would really appreciate if you share your experience. And second question is that in my appartment there is a internet connection without a wireless router. My landlord says that its the matter of contract if you can have wifi and even if I buy a router myself, it won't work. Now I don't believe she's really an expert on IT, but better be safe than sorry - is it really possible that if I install a router myself the operators settings won't allow it to work? |

If you are not going to talk and use internet much, then I suggest comviq which is tele2's pay-n-go brand, or Halebop, or 3 (tre.se). Each has various caps on data if you pick the cheap options.
If you have an ethernet cable coming to home, then for sure you can connect that to a wireless router as well. See www.prisjakt.nu to find cheap router. |

For a payg phone sim you go to a 7 eleven store and buy a kontantkort, and you also buy a voucher from them to load it.
If you click through the reader offers on this screen top right, Comviq will send you a sim free with instructions how to use it in English and a phone line to call in English for help. |
