Anyone know where I can get my winter tires changed to the summer tires? I'm sick of doing it myself each season! Any place near Farsta or Skarpnäck??

Tack!

From a google search... cannot say if they are good, cheap or anything else. But it is in Farsta.

There are usually plenty of signs around of small back street guys who will do it for 150/200kr. A lot of garages like Q8 that have workshops will also change and balance. Personally I use Däckhuset/Däckia because they also store the wheels and do a deep clean each season.

I do similar. Park the tyres up at our local Volvo dealership and they duely send me an appointment card when it's time to change. No hassle, no dragging tyres out of storage, and I can spend the extra time surfing porn.

Any place called "däck service"

If you are driving on studs be careful as you can be fined if there is no ice

That's for sure, the date for studs has now passed. Beware the 'dubb-inspectors' and environmentalists rolleyes.gif
One of the big advantages of driving on friction tyres, you don't have the same pressure as to when they have to be changed. I've driven on them for about 25 years now, and never any bother. Two summers ago I was too lazy to change, and they stayed on all year. Having what is now a redundant dustbin cupboard beside the garage, I have a ready-made wheel storage - cost free - and they are in a safe spot, too.

Driving on M&S tyres in the summer when it is hot or fast motorway driving can cause the tyres to deform and even disintegrate.

Has never happened to me, Rick, and I don't exactly hang about. It all depends on the tyres I think, and the type of actual tread. Mine look almost like normal summer tyres, with no sign of 'chunkiness' at all. In fact they look alomst like high speed tyres from the tread pattern. But I agree, they are not designed, or 'mixed' for summer roads, and this year they WILL get changed. biggrin.gif
