Hi,
We plan to buy an apartment (bostadsrätt) and we are saving money for the downpayment. In most banks, the downpayment is 15% of the final price and I am not sure if we can save that much money in 6 months. So we plan to take a personal loan for the defecit. In that case does anyone know how much is the minimum contribution from our side as the downpayment. Thank you! |

The 15% is not a decision from the Banks, it is a rule put in place from the government body Finansinspektionen (FI). Banks are not to lend greater than 85% of the market value of the apartment, for the apartment purchase.
However, some banks may let You take a loan using anything else other than the apartment as security to bump it up to 100%, or depending upon Your salary, credit rating etc... may even be able to offer You a personal loan without security! Most likely is that You have to cough up the 15%. |

Check compricer.se and prisjakt.nu for bolån and privatlån to see banks and get an idea about the rates. But don't trust it much, because especially privatlån interest rate depends on what the bank thinks of your economic situation.

Thank you very much! It looks like that the bank will provide loans based on an individual's situation. I shall better contact the bank and ask their opinion.
