I wonder if COMHEM isn't the worst company in Sweden. They seem hell bent on extracting as much money as possible from their customers. Their latest contribution to this is to remove their SMALL channel package completely, increase the prices of their other packages by WAY above the rate of inflation and YET AGAIN increase the charge made for the card that goes into the box. This latter charge now amounts to a STAGGERING SEK 59 per month and in no way can reflect their costs.
I would be intersted to hear if anyone else has managed to squeeze and price reductions out of them. I have been offered 3 months free if I sign up for another year. However, I am really tempted to ditch them. Anyone got anything better? |

Sounds to me like they are doing good business, especially if you are happy with their service otherwise

If you have a good internet connection, why not just cancel your account and get a VPN ?

They seem to be cheaper than boxer for their small ( M8) than Boxer but more expensive for others but Boxer only charges you 55kr a month for the card.
Even if Boxer was free, after the trouble I had with them sending me debt collector bills 6 months after I terminated my contract, I would never use Boxer |

Haven't you got an address in the UK Rick? If so why not get a Sky box and card. They charge for the programmes, but not for the card. That seems to be very Swedish - since the banks also charge for both their cards and for their Internet service, neither of which are charged by my bank in the UK. I feel it's a damned swindle charging for the card, whether it be for TV or for a bank.
As you will know, there are umpteen channels on Sky that are available over here on the Swedish suppliers, and SVT1, 2 TV4, Ch.6 etc are DBT channels here, so you'd get much of what Comhem supply (or do not). |

I got rid of Boxer when I installed my Dish and I now have Freesat with BBC/ITV Sky News etc. I still have SVT1/2 channel 4 ( for V75) and some other rubbish Free to air Swedish channels. All of this for the grand sum of nothing

Rick, you seem to get pretty well all you need, then. I shall have to remove my Sky card to see what I would lose out on without it. Who knows, maybe I could save a bit if there is still most of what I want left. I did have one of the Swedish cards in another box and on another satellite, but it involved swinging the dish between satellites a bit too often, so it was out with that box and remove the dish motor.
Anyone want a Samsung DSR9500AY satellite receiver fitted with a Viaccess cam and a Stab HH100 Dish Rotator cheap? |
